  • Tired of the Dead to Rights Advertising???

    3

Ok so we are all aware that Dead To Rights is a shooter with a guy that has an attack dog that is sworn to protect and blah blah blah. But its getting old seeing the same ol thing every time i get on the site. Now i understand that there is probably some reason GI is leaving it up there but i just wanted to say its driving me nuts. Anyone that has the same feelings feel free to say anything about it or anything else you are feeling finicky or picky about at the moment.

  • Point of your top 200 if all it can arouse is argumentation and disagreement.

Over the years of having a subscription to GI mag i have had the privilege of being able to look over, analyze and criticize the many lists of top however many games or whatever and realized after the GI top 200; whats the point? No one ever totally agrees with the list (and with a list of 200 there comes plenty of discussion) and i am sure that GI gets numerous letters and comments about their choices in who to put where and who not to even put into the list. Even GI themselves reported that there isn't much reason for this list where they answered comments about their top 200 in issue 202. Their response to the comentors is as follows; " Lists are great because no one ever agrees on them. This gives rise to thoughtful discussion, arguments, and (in some cases) judicious mudslinging." This was only the beginning of their response but one should wonder if thats all the reason you have for creating this top 200, other than causing argument and "judicious mudslinging" then why do it? If GI were to make another top 200 list now, without the prior knowledge of the original, the results would be greatly different. Now of course new games have been released in the past two months which could alter the list obviously but some games would change places on the list or even be totally be eradicated from the list. This shows the fragility of lists and just shows that opinions are not always the same over periods of time and that they can be swayed over short periods of time. Now i truly appreciate the time and effort you guys had put into the top 200 and you guys are still the #1 game magazine but i must ask you this; if lists are only a spark for "judicious mudslinging" and constantly change over time, i ask you Game informer, is there really a good enough reason behind this hefty use of magazine space?
