Where to begin? It's 2:30 AM, and yes I've been playing Dark Souls since 4 PM.  This is easily one the greatest action-rpgs to have come out in well over years.  The premise is simple: go throughout the many areas and kill enemies and bosses to gain their souls.  But what makes this adventure stand out from all the others is the sheer difficulty in acclompishing these tasks.  Normal, by the numbers enemies can easily end your quest if you rush through.  Bosses take enormous chunks of life away if you let your guard down for an instant.  Most of these boss battles don't seem fair. as fighting two bosses at once or even four, can be challenging.  What makes Dark Souls addicting, however, is that you are very capable of winning, you just need to fight strategically.  You most likely heard that 9 times out of 10, a death was your fault.  I simply can't say it any better.  The rewards are tremendous as you conquer over enemies and discover secret factions.  Half of my awesome equipment was found from exploring the vast world and finding hidden covenants, a new addition to the Souls.  Covenants provide great benefits, from encouraging cooperation or even turning into a dragon.  And, if you happen to be stuck at a relatively punishing area, you can always call on another helpful player who has left their soul sign on the ground.  Dark Souls is easily one of my contenders for game of the year, and perhaps one my favorite games of all time.  Don't miss a chance to play one of the most beautifully crafted and rewarding rpgs this generation.
