The lights are on
I bought Brink.A few weeks after it came out, it was $29.99 at the local game store.I was personally excited for the game before it came out, although I lost interest in it and it flew under my radar. I read a few reviews and it was an average game. Now, I do understand reviews don't represent the game fully, but I just assumed I shouldn't waste my money on this.Little did I know...
Zombies. They are EVERYWHERE! Board up your home and stock up on rations. All forms of entertainment are adopting zombies faster than Brad and Angelina get babies. Now, i have no qualm against zombies. I have a great respect for them used as a literary device or to compare to human nature. But zombies are talking and using weapons and having sex and flying to mars and alot of...unpleasant things. Games are more cautious of using zombies as fodder for the recieving end of our assault rifles, but how long will it be until they are pointing guns at us. The slow, shambling zombies of Dead Rising or the fast, agile "infected" of Left 4 Dead are great examples of zombies used for the right reason. I loved Nazi Zombies but really? Time travelling Hell Hounds who eat necks like dog food? So I plead to whoever plans to use zombies in their next adventure: Please, I dont want to fight Jet packing, Rocket Launcher wielding zombies who speak perfect french who can also make flapjacks. Use your brain before it gets eatin.
After I beat a game, I dont go back to playing it (usually). I dont care about the quests thats left or if I can unlock some awesome acheivement. When im done, I trade my games in. I know what your thinking but no, i'm not writing about any slander. I paid 59.99$ for my new games. I trade them in for around 20.00$. Now i'm not that good at math but I think I might be getting ripped off. I keep my games clean and safe, always in their cases. Why do I have to get this amount of money back for a game I paid double for just a week ago? Locally, I don't know alot of people that want to trade and i'm not the richest kid in the land. I just think that maybe one day I could get a lil' bit more money for my trade ins. Black Ops isn't free.
Modern Warfare 2 was a national best seller. No one can argue that this game was and always will be great. I bought this game a few weeks after the release.I looked on the back (like everyone else) and something struck me.Above all the words and pictures, one statement stood above all: Game Informer's. After a while I dismissed this from my mind. But just a few days before BattleField Bad Company 2's release, i saw it again. Gameinformer had graced the commercial with its words of wisdom. Sow how much power do they have? Some gamers dont like Gameinformer due to its relationship with Gamestop because of trade-in prices and other things. But we have to learn from the Gameinformer's wisdom when it comes to video games because apparently everyone else does.
