The lights are on
Is it me or is anyone else reminded of Gears of War and the Locust?!? I mean that hole, the big giant one, is a little too perfect for it to be a standard sink hole and scientist, yeah the one's in the white coats, say they don't think only rain fall could produce such a large sink hole. Just saying I hope life doesn't start to imitate art, it'd be kinda hard to retrofit a Stihl chainsaw to a AR-15. That is all.
So my friend got a PS3 and MW2 for christmas this past year. Was never a big gamer himself but now he is gradually turning into one. I was at his place this past weekend and we were shooting the breeze, having some rum, beers and 'herbal' aromatherapy. He turns on MW2 and we start playing. He is atrocious at FPS, especially online. So he let me play knowing I am a true gamer, albiet one who dedicates his online play to XBL.
In todays technological society it seems like a lot of old ways of living are dying off in favor of more convenient, electronically based mediums. Easiest example is email making regular mail obsolete, sans objects that need packaging and shipping such as all the crap on ebay, the USPS has even considered canceling weekend service and in some cities and towns across the US they have even cut the number of the iconic 'blue mail drop off boxs'.
So going to celebrate with some MW2 owning and a good breakfast burrito from the Frontier Restaurant here in Albuquerque New Mexico on Route 66.
Got my 1st one today, took just over 100mins but it was fun and the time flew by. I figure if i do one a day I should have them knocked out in no time. Just wish i had 2 more players to join because its kinda hard to do it with only 2 people. But the more i play this game mode the more i llike it.
So i popped in NFS: Most Wanted earlier this week to get the easy 1000 achieves. I noticed how bad those graphics had aged, even though i understand that that game is more like an original xbox game just ported to the 360. This had me thinking that when i played Most Wanted on the original xbox i thought it had pretty good graphics for the time. Now flash to me last week playing NFS: Shift, that game is in a word 'beautiful' compared to NFS: MW. It was a realization that when i was playing MW i wondered how much better graphics could get and how more immersed one could feel, now playing Shift i learned that even those graphics may be improved upon. This got my mind thinking, which eventually led to me wondering what the next gen consoles may look like, graphically. If such leaps and bounds are made in just a generation of consoles, look at gears of war compared to the sequel; beautiful graphics to begin with and improved upon within the same console cycle. Take a 360 launch game and compare it to a just released game or soon to be released game: Full Auto or Perfect Dark Zero compared to Modern Warfare 2, that graphical leap is dramatic. So each passing month brings closer a new console, i can only dream as to what is instore and i am anxious to talk about it and see other perspectives as to how immersion and interaction may be upgraded in the next gen consoles.

The old site, to me, rated on a scale of 1-10 an astounding... meh. Love the new look and functionality of the redux, more welcoming and easier to navigate. Plus gives an easier avenue to communicate with your fav staffers/editors. Thumbs up to all involved in the new site, this mosdef rates an AhhhhhSchizzle on my scale of 1-10.
