First of all, I'd just like to say that I've been a gamer since before most of the users on this site were born. I've got a wife and two small kids. In spite of that, I continue to find ways to work around my family and professional lives to maintain a healthy dose of video games. You're never too old to game!!!
I started with an Atari 2600 back in the day and haven't slowed down in the 3 decades since. I don't do much discriminating. If it's a genre, I've probably been deep into it at some point. Over the last decade or so, I've pretty much stuck with the Sony stuff, with the exception of my daughter's Wii (which is basically collecting dust, as she mostly plays downloaded games from the PSN).
My message to the world, as much as I'm allowed to voice one, is that video games are not just for kids. I still hold my own with even the youngest of players in Call of Duty and love pwning n00bs as much as any gamer out there. If I'm able, I'll still be doing this when I'm 70. Please arthritis, leave me the hell alone!
