The lights are on
This is first and foremost one of the best games around. Now the one reason it didn't score a ten by me is that the story sucks. Now vent your fanboy rage I'll wait. Done yet? Oh well i don't care but the one major downside is the story sucks more than a three dollar hooker being paid ten bucks. The biggest problem is that you can skip half the story if you wander to just the right spot and that is just shitty design. But the V.A.T.S. is a cool and solid design principal the only downside is that shots that V.A.T.S. says are impossible I can pull off in under a second. However The game is really long and that is good if you are a completionest freak I have done thiss once and only once and that was the first bioshock wich I kind of got obsessed with but it was an addicting survival horror game that was great. But the one difference between this and oblivion is that Oblivion had a more substantial deep and more created world. The biggest problem was while I felt like the wasteland was real I didn't think it felt like I was a part of it I felt like I was on a very very prolonged vacation because you enter the world in a vault and if you don't have brotherhood of steel you leave just as quickly as you entered and the last "quest" so to speak isn't like a really real quest its more of a clean up after a freakin huge robot that does all of the work for you and enter a code that you kind of have to guess unless you can remember a lot about your dear old dad you might forget and fail but all that really happens is it does a little change of a final cutscene that is not at all emotionaly moving but then again I didn't care about the whole big end of final fantasy VII I just didn't care at all. But the game has solid mechanics a decent amount of loot even though there isn't a lot of weapon variety but it is a solidly fun experience and if you can only buy one DLC pack for this game make it brother hood of steel even though it isn't the most fun one to play (that honor goes to the pit ) it fixes the endgame wich is quite nice and enjoyable. My final words on this are it is a great game a little overhyped but great not to many shining characters but those who shine are brighter than the ssun.
