What follows is what's been stuck in my head for the last few weeks. I'm apologizing ahead of time, as pretty much all of it will be Metal Gear and Buffy-centric. You've been warned friendo.
I've always loved this particular song, but seeing it in the Phantom Pain trailer only solidified that. The lyrics just fit with the MGS mythos so well. I thought it used to get stuck in my head before, but now, I can't get it out. All I see is Big Boss, and the madness of the most recent MGS trailers. "We are, extraordinary people"
Buffy The Vampire Slayer pretty much owned the better part of my life as a teenager, along with RE and MGS. The first few seasons of BTVS has one of the greatest soundtracks on tv to date, and this particular song from Dashboard Prophets is a standout in my opinion in a great ep.
The first time I ever heard this song was in the Phantom Pain trailer, and it's been stuck in my head ever since. After learning the story behind Nicola and Bart, the song becomes all the more powerful.
I just love this song. It simultaneously has a melancholic feel, while retaining a hard edge to it. Again, I just love the music on Buffy.
I love the scope of this song. It goes from a calm and lilting tune, to a grandiose piece of music with powerful lyrics. I really can't wait to play MGSV.
Another great song from Dashboard Prophets. They only put out one cd, and it's one of those rare albums that I can just push play and listen from beginning to end without having to skip any songs.
