Like hell itself Dante's Inferno resurects God of War as a skeletal thrall, but builds something around it that is, quite simply, missing the soul that its source of inspiration exudes with every step. What is created seems more like a mercifully... More

While the Jak And Daxter HD Collection is certainly an excellent package of classic titles, the value of the games themselves may very well be matched by the opportunity to witness the evolution of a current day industry giant.

Saints Row 2 starts off with a bang but, at least for this gamer, went out with a frustrating whimper. The game took several missions to draw me in, but only one painfully poorly thought out segment to send it back to Gamefly. The mission in question... More
  • A Mixed Bag With Polarizing Potential

Warning: This review may contain spoilers. I'm not afraid to say that my time with Assassin's Creed wasn't enjoyable all the time, and after dropping all my other gaming related endeavors I came away with mixed impressions. Make no mistake... More

Stop here, shut your *** mouth, read the entire review before you talk ***. Plain and simple, Battlefield 3 got lost somewhere along the line of its development - caught up in the hype that EA was generating along the way and left itself on the side of... More

Saint has issued a challenge I'm taking him up on it. It's time the asses that spam this review section to hate on games they don't understand or like, have not played, or to protest the reviewer got pushed the hell out. If you're one of those people I'm not afraid to say you make me sick.

  • Traditional BioWare that shows signs of being rushed.

Dragon Age II is textbook BioWare in execution, however it's small scope suggests that it was rushed due to the franchise's nearly complete ground up overhaul. Kirkwall lacks the fullness that BioWare's games normally present in spite of their usually low number of populating NPCs. Despite this emptiness, I found the multi-direction approach of the reused areas to take some of the droll away. The characters do not suffer, however, as I came away from the game with a new beloved character and she may make it onto my all time list. The bubbly, obliviously happy, yet darkly troubled Merrill was a bright spot in the game and paired with a relatively strong cast, with the exception of one rather grouchy and unapproachable elf, made the often repetitive game bearable when it otherwise wouldn't have. For fans of interaction in gaming, Dragon Age II is worth a playthrough as its ditching of a morality system provides for several scenarios which will leave you decidedly unsure in what path you should take. However, it is brought down by a lack of a focused plot and lack of depth in areas.

  • A Huge Leap of the Ledge to Perfection

When the first Assassin's Creed came out a couple years back I was blown away. The game took the platforming and action genrse to new heights by allowing players to actually free climb on any structure with something to grab hold of and to attack anyone the felt to be a threat. It set a benchmark for graphics and immersion in a genre, platforming, that had for years been marked by double jumps and set paths. Assassin's Creed was the first of what is now a growing collection of games that defy anyone genre, and Assassin's Creed two steps above all others to the top of that list.
