The lights are on
Motion control has revolutionized the video game industry. It has turned many people on to gaming that would never have picked up a standard controller. I am grateful that Nintendo was able to innovate in the way that they did, but I want to send a message to all who will hear: Don't force motion control.
I grew up with video games. I've been playing them since there was only one button on the controller. When I went to college, it was a great time. The PS1 and N64 were going strong. We had marathon sessions of Goldeneye and Mario Kart. When I found time for single-player action, I turned to Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
I enjoyed The Prince of Persia much more than anything from Ewe Boll, but I still don't know if we truly need movies based on game franchises.
"Are Video Games Art?" How many times have you read an article in a magazine asking this very question? How many times have you heard or read a debate about it? There is no need for me to wax poetic about the subject. I can answer the question very quickly.
