I am an avid gamer and I really believe that my calling is to work in the video game industry in any way. I play video games whenever I'm not busy with school or work and I feel that if I got to play video games for my job I would truly never work a day in my life. As of right now I'm a History major and I hope to get my bachelor's degree by the summer of 2012. I plan on pursuing my dream job of becoming a game designer but I realize that getting into the video game industry isn't easy so I have a backup plan to be a history teacher because...well, I love history.
Video games have been my life since I found my older sister's NES when I was six and began playing Super Mario Bros. I moved on to the N64 which was the first system that I could say was all mine. I played every game that I could get my hands on by renting or buying. I eventually got a PSOne and began playing RPG games like Final Fantasy. I moved on to a PS2 to get one game, Kingdom Hearts. I loved that game and I moved on to other great titles for the PS2. I got an Xbox and built up my library of video games. Then the current generation of games came and I grabbed a 360 and I was able to finally get a PS3 just this past Spring, and now I find out that the next group of gaming systems are already going to start coming out next year! I'm starting to feel like I can't really keep up with the industry but I plan on keeping up for as long as I can. If I can get a job in the industry then I probably won't have as much worries about keeping up so I'll keep working and keep my fingers crossed.
