Shall we begin like "David Copperfield"? "I am born...I grew up."Or shall we begin when I was born to gaming, as I call it. That's where we should start, don't you think?1986 was the year it happened. I was 9. Younger than you are now. But times were different then...Super Mario Brothers, Metroid, Excitebike, Kung Fu, Metal Gear, Hogan's Alley, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, Dragon Warrior, Spy Hunter, Bionic Commando, Mega Man, Contra, Double Dribble, Ikari Warriors, Section Z, Solomon's Key.SMB was the first game I ever beat, unfortunately it was 1 life after my brother had just beaten the game. It wasn't until 1987 that my true gaming calling was found. With the release of both Castlevania and The Legend of Zelda I discovered what would become a 20+ year obsession with gaming. Soon, creek dwelling and bike riding fell to castle exploration and dungeon puzzling. I was hooked.
Through the ensuing years I have equally split my time between live music (touring, concert production, record labels) and gaming (handhelds are great for when you're stuck in a van for 8 hours at a time). I've bought almost every system ever released (with my notable lack of any Microsoft-developed systems) and plowed my way through a pretty hefty amount of games, my library only rivaled by my record collection.
I am currently the proud owner of a 80 gig MGS4 edition PS3, modded with a 500 gig hard drive and every peripheral I can get my hands on.
