I was born in a small town in Northern Kentucky. To quote J.D. Salinger: "If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don’t feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth. Besides, I’m not going to tell you my whole goddam autobiography or anything." I would say the magic happened when I played my first video game. I was six years old, and that game was King's Quest.
From that moment on, I knew I was hooked. Immersion is a wonderful gift that video games give us; our little kid eyes alight with awe. I became alive with the glory of gaming, destined to fulfill the path of mystical fantasy.
The next peak I hit was with Crash Bandicoot. I shared a rocky relationship with that fuzzy son of a badger. I loved and adored him when he seamlessly hopped from one chunk of broken earth to another like a professional free runner, and then cursed his name into the heavens the second his spinny move went off just too late - facilitating a gruesome death from those godforsaken penguins.
Not long after, I had the first brush with my livelihood - Silent Hill. This game to date is my favorite video game ever made by man, and probably will be for a long time. The first tattoo I ever wanted was that of the 'halo of the sun,' a little cult symbol that appears only in the game - I was 16 years old then. At 27 years of age, it's still the tattoo I would get, if I ever grow the pair I need to get inked!
It has spawned a few sequels, all of which I absolutely loved.
Well, Silent Hill 5 was totally lame. The rest were awesome.
I guess that brings us up to present day. Now you can find me on XBOX live, doing what I (usually) do best, which is owning you in the face. Hard.
When I'm not doing that, I'm raiding with my pals in <Frugal Inspirations> on World of Warcraft. I've been an avid WoW-er since back when Kara was cool, and tanking has never been more enjoyable.
That's my gaming history. Oh, I'm Jen by the way. Sup.
I love Quentin Tarantino, insta-kills, and most importantly, cheeseburgers.
I'm here to absorb all things game into my life because, like the rest of you, I'm passionate about it! And it's also really fun to say: 'You just got beat by a girl."
