Anyone who gives Sonic 4 Pt 1 a better review than Colors or Generations has some asinine chip on their shoulder over games using 3D in a way Nintendo doesn't approve of or something. Now look, I would love you to be fired - but please, don't stop being honest. We need to see how much an idiot you really are and you are an idiot. Anyone who writes that Sonic Colors's soundtrack sounds like a rip off of Super Mario Galaxy or that the later levels in Sonic Generations aren't good because they don't pay tribute to Genesis Sonic games is beyond credibility. I just want to say though that a review is an opinion, one person's view. You didn't give RE: ORC a great review but I played it and loved it anyway (it did have some rough spots though). I guess what I'm trying to say is that in my mind Tim, you not only have the right but you've earned the right to have an opinion (especially on a sonic game). Hell, you probably loved playing through the game anyway, but to properly review it you have to point out the flaws.

Wow Tim, you have received a lot of crap for that Sonic review. Sonic Colors gets a 7 because of repetitive level design, hard to control power ups, and a floaty Sonic. Sonic Generations gets a 6.75 because it removes the hard to control power ups, fixes the floaty feel of Sonic, and gives more variety in level design. One of the few positive comments in your review of Generations is the game is a "nostalgic treat." Sonic 4 Episode I receives an 8 because Sonic feels floaty, it has repetitive stage design, and a physics engine that constantly results in Sonic stopping dead in his tracks halfway through a loop. Sonic 4 Episode II receives a 5 because it fixes the floaty feel of Episode I, has great level variety, fixes the physics, but is a "nostalgia cash-in." I'm just curious what the criteria for an acceptable nostalgia cash-in is according to your unbalanced and conflicting review scores for these games. One last quote from the Episode I review: "Sonic does his best to make things like they used to be, but all the candlelit dinners and chaos emeralds in the world can’t hide the fact that we’ve both changed." I think this sums things up perfectly. Perhaps someone else could review Sonic titles in the future, or at least give your readers a second opinion column on the these games like in past issues of Game Informer. I'm not a psychotic Sonic groupie or someone against sharing opinions and personal views on their own gameplay experiences. I just want a second opinion, and I know I'm not alone. Thanks for reading, Tim.

Let me get this straight. Technically they are, but they are not part of the game. The Combine were taking over one of the alien planets they Freeman tears a whole to, and they then proceed to Earth from there. The soldiers in Half Life are Marines i believe. Only there to cover up the Black Mesa incident.
