Do you think this was just an experimental progression of Minecraft's alpha/beta-sales tactic, a revolution in the way developers do business, or just a one-off for a studio with a history of pursuing their passiosn? I mean, it's a brilliant strategy that's half IPO, half closed beta, and practically Machavellian for getting poential end users interested early on. You reviewed Shadows of the Damned when it came out and I thought the review was super well written. I bought the game based pretty much entirely on the strength of your review. Man, were you right. That game is awesome. That game made me feel like I was 15 again (in a good way). I don't remember laughing that hard at a game in a long time. You don't see a lot of games that are just outright unapologetic and charmingly juvenile. It's too bad it has been overlooked commercially.
