  • How To Play (Some) Incompatible Original PlayStation Games On Vita

    11

Yesterday, Sony announced a new PlayStation Network flash sale taking place over the weekend, discounting a number of PlayStation Network games down to $0.99. In my news post about the sale, I expressed disappointment that I wouldn't be able to play Legend of Dragoon on my Vita, but I learned that's actually not the case. More

  • Four Innovations, Some Tips, And Weird Screenshots From Mega Man Xtreme

    4

I am a huge Mega Man X fan, but I never got around to playing Mega Man Xtreme or its sequel. I recently downloaded the Virtual Console version of the game and played the crap out of it. I beat the game three times in a row on all difficulties, making sure to find every hidden item and upgrade, including the Hadoken and Shoryuken from Street Fighter capsule. More

I played a bunch of Mega Man Xtreme recently and wanted to share my positive experience, along with some tips and some screenshots.

  • What Do Professional Dream Scientists Think Of The Movie Inception?

    5

Recently, while working on a feature for the upcoming issue of the magazine, I had the opportunity to talk to doctors Bob Stickgold of Harvard University and Jayne Gackenbach of MacEwan University about dreams as they relate to interactive experiences. I also took the opportunity to ask the two, who have each made academic careers out of studying dreams, what they thought of the movie Inception. You can find their thoughts below. More

In a recent video, Bryan Vore I were discussing the use of the sprint button in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. I was sure there is no run button, while Bryan was sure there definitely is a run button. Technically we were both right. More

Bryan Vore and Kyle Hilliard solve the mystery surrounding Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's elusive sprint button.

  • A Town Called Panic And The Lego Movie Are Kind Of The Same Film

    8 1

In 2009, a bizarre animated movie from Belgium released titled A Town Called Panic. Apparently, it's the film version of a series of animated shorts that appeared on television in Europe. My first exposure to the film was running across random trailers online, but a few months later I found it had made its way to Netflix.

The film is funny, bizarre, and fast-paced, and I recommend watching it – especially if you liked The Lego Movie. More

  • The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds' Hero Mode Exclusives

    3

I've played a lot of Link Between Worlds. Probably too much. I played through the game once, and quickly restarted it on the Hero Mode difficulty and didn't stop until I had everything. The main difference between the two modes is that in Hero Mode, you take significantly more damage, making the game harder. There are a few other differences though, and I grabbed a few example images if you were curious what else changes. More

  • Exploring Pokémon X & Y With Kalos' Worst Photographer

    9

If Grand Theft Auto V and the The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD are any indication, the ability to photograph your virtual self in a video game is the future. It was a welcome surprise to learn that Pokémon X & Y offered this feature. It all falls apart, however, when you realize that despite claiming to be a professional photographer, Phil the Photo Guy has clearly never used a camera in his life and is making no effort to learn. • Bioshock Infinite's Biggest Mystery

    27

I finally finished Bioshock Infinite last night, and can happily return to Internet message boards and walk around the Game Informer offices without my fingers in my ears. I, along with many others, walked away with questions. I dove into assorted summaries of the story and ending, watched our Spoiled video segment on the game, and can happily report that I think I mostly have a decent grasp on what happened. I have still have questions though. More
