  • Impressions: Abbey Road DLC

I excitedly downloaded the Abbey Road DLC, and after a couple playthroughs, I'm both delighted and disappointed. Straight off, it's hard to argue that the DLC is worth the money strictly in a monetary sense simply because so many of the songs are already on the Beatles: Rock Band disc. I wish MTV Games would have charged more like $9.99 instead of $16.99 given that I already paid for "Come Together", "Something", "Octopus's Garden", "I Want You", "Here Comes the Sun", and "The End". Sure, most of the editors have toys and collectibles on their desk. Not me.  I've got this monument of monstrosity anchoring my workspace. It's The Trophy of the Gilded Frog. Ex-editor Jay Fitzloff and I created this beast as a way to celebrate our annual Vikings/Packers bet. The trophy is on my desk because last year the Vikings had the better regular season record. Believe it or not, this my reward. And it all started with a frog. More

  • Hey Jude?

I was very glad to hear that The Beatles: Rock Band developer Harmonix announce a while back that the complete albums of Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, and Sgt. Pepper's would be available before the end of the year. The announcements of these full records got me thinking: Are we going to see all the albums released? More specifically: What about those songs that were released as singles only, such as "Hey Jude"? More

  • Help Me Save Madden!

    4 1

Real-life football games take upwards of three hours or more from start to finish. Games of Madden – especially since it's added more between-play cutscenes to improve its presentation – can also take a while to finish when compared to other sports video games. Playing on five-minute quarters, it can take me half-an-hour or more to play one game. That's not a lot of time, but I often find myself wishing that Madden offered the ability for me to save my game while I'm playing. More
