  • Yet Another Super Smash Bros Newcomer Wishlist

    4

A new Super Smash Bros game is a huge event for Nintendo fans. They only come once a console generation, feature tons of Nintendo characters, and can still be enjoyed years after the sequel has had a sequel. Super Smash Bros also gives any character that becomes a fighter a huge popularity boost, Super Smash Bros is the reason Fire Emblem games started being localized for example. So people listing who they want in the new Super Smash Bros is a very common thing to see on the internet, so I’m going to contribute to that trend because I can.

  • Ten Gamecube Games I'd Like To See On The Wii U Virtual Console

    9

When the Wii U was announced, there was one question people were wondering about that still hasn’t been answered. The most recent Nintendo console on the Virtual Console for the Wii was the Nintendo 64. So, with the Wii U and Gamecube having the same generation gap as the Wii and N64, speculation began on the concept of Gamecube Virtual Console Games. It does make a lot of sense, the Wii had backwards compatibility with the Gamecube, so it did have every previous console represented on it. With the lack of Gamecube backwards compatibility on the Wii U due to how hard that would be to pull off in addition to Wii backwards compatibility, there is a good reason for Gamecube games to appear on the virtual console. With the fact that GBA games are now on the Wii U virtual console and Nintendo releasing an official Gamecube controller adaptor for the Wii U, Gamecube virtual console games are practically confirmed now, as the GBA and Gamecube were of the same generation and Nintendo now has to find some use for that adaptor beyond Super Smash Bros. So, here are ten Gamecube games I’d love to see on the virtual console sometime, in no particular order.

  • The Possibilities of Mario Kart 8 DLC

    2

Like many other Nintendo fans, I’ve been playing a lot of Mario Kart 8 recently. In my opinion, it is easily one of the best games in the series. The amount of detail and content put into the game is highly impressive. But this blog is about something else, the post launch support. While the Wii U and 3DS represent a massive jump in quality for Nintendo’s online, post-launch support is something there hasn’t been a lot of. However, if Steel Diver: Sub Wars’ recent 2.0 update is any indicator, that will change. And DLC for Mario Kart 8 has already been announced, a free new kart body designed to promote some new car, which hopefully will not be the only DLC the game gets. So here are some updates and DLC I’d like to see for Mario Kart 8.

  • Nintendo's Mysterious New NFP

Ever since Nintendo announced that they would be releasing figures that interact with their games, I’ve been thinking about how exactly they’ll work. So naturally that’s where the idea of this blog came from, the potential of the NFP and what exactly they’ll do

  • Nintendo at E3 2014 predictions

Nintendo got the ball rolling for E3 hype over a month before E3, so naturally people have begun anticipating what they’ll announce. I figured writing mine down would be a good way to get back into a writing groove. This is probably going to suck, but at least I'm writing something.

  • Nintendo is more then Mario

    5

I never considered myself a fighter in the system wars, mostly because of it's stupidity and insanity. But I do find myself defending what I like from the crazies, like with Nintendo. Nintendo is one company with a fandom that greatly annoys me, for the exact same reasons the haters annoy me. And this is because of one shared, hypocritical misassumption. That Nintendo only makes Mario and should make something else, and that Nintendo doesn't do third party games.

The truth is, Nintendo has done exactly that. Take a look at the 3DS eShop, plenty of original games by Nintendo with no Mario in sight. Hell, I don't even know of a game like Sakura Samurai. The 3DS eShop alone has plenty of examples against the common assumptions about Nintendo. Mighty Switch Force, Pushmo, Crashmo, Dillion's Rolling Western and Liberation Maiden would like to remind you of their existence. And on the retail end we have Code of Princess, Rhythm Thief and the Emperors Treasure, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and Ghost Recon Shadow Wars.

And on the Wii U, it already has the Cave, Little Inferno and Trine 2 up on the eShop. And retail wise, we have Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. Various multi platform games would also like to talk with you (and Mass Effect 2's port to the PS3 and the news that caused). Also, we're very early in Wii U's life, it takes a long time to actually assemble a good library, and it still has a better game library then the Vita (though it's better then most say). The long list of good quality games on the horizon is proof enough the library is going to get big. And now, let's talk about the most unfairly bashed console of all time.
