  • I think perhaps the saddest thing about the rise of gaming in youth culture is youtube. These youtubers impress upon these young gamers that games are exclusively a social experience. When some of the greatest moments in games are better as intimate experiences between the player and the designed product on 12 Aug 2015 9:58 AM
  • TQ: You finally have a chance to make it in Hollywood. Your trusty agent calls you and says you have 2 choices: Do you wanna star as the lead in a television show or the lead in a movie? Which do you choose and why? After you figured that out: What kinda genre do you wanna star in? Reality? Romance? Sci-fi? Voice acting in an animation? Action? This question is inspired by the recent move trailers from Marvel, the new Jason Bourne, and the other really awesome movies that’s coming this year. My Answer: I wanna be the lead of a television show because even though movies tend to get wayyyy more advertising than tv shows… Tv shows stick in people’s hearts and tend to be talked about wayyy more if they’re executed really well. However! It is easier and quicker to lose someone’s interest in a television show but I’m willing to take that risk! Voice acting in an anime sounds freaking awesome as well. What’s your answer? on 9 Feb 2016 5:33 PM
  • Yesterday, after work, I went to a small shop to relax for a while before heading home. Then, this guy who was a Christian preacher... or whatever you call them went to the table I was sitting in and sat across from me and was like "what's your name." to which I replied "Uh... Ri...Risette." He told me his name and he was all "Risette, I was just eating my food and looked over at you and I knew that you were something special. God went out of his way to make you the way he did. You're special... something something something. You're gonna have many children and you will be everything to those kids because you're special." Then he started talking so fast and rhythmically that I swear it was as if he was spitting some serious rhymes with the illest of flow that would make Tupac smile. I couldn't understand everything he was saying, though. I wanted to get up and leave because I wasn't interested in any of it since I'm not a religious person. Buuut for whatever reason it was I decided not to be rude and let him continue. This dude talked to me for about 15 minutes straight without breathing. Impressive! Anyway, I thought he was finally done, but he said something like "Now, Risette, let me tell you something about..." That was when I had to get up and say I really needed to get going. Fun times. amiright? on 13 Feb 2016 11:29 AM

  • In an RPG, such as Dark Souls, I'm always told that I'm ''supposed'' to play it a certain way. For instance, I'm told, ''You're SUPPOSED to upgrade your stats this way, or else the game won't work.'' If the developer designed his game subjectively and ALLOWED people to ruin it, then really, he failed to design his game at all; he's an idiot. There's no such thing as bad design. There can only be a LACK of design, a lack of structure.  In an RPG, why am I expected to upgrade my health stats as I come across enemies who deal more damage, but I'm not expected to play on the easiest difficulty? If they want me to do what's best for me, then why not make it the default setting?! See, they don't care about balancing the game at all; it goes completely out the window. on 18 Sep 2014 9:56 PM
