Hey guys
My name is Matthew Freihofer. I live in Southern New Jersey on the shore near Atlantic City. I've been a gamer at heart for all of my life and live for it. My favorite game ,believe it or not, is Dungeons and Dragons paper and dice RPG. I'm a Dungeon Master and hold a seven party group almost every week and have been doing so for the past few months. On top of DM'ing, I also love writing fantasy.
i currently attend a local community college and am majoring in Communications, however, my goal is become a video game writer. All of my ideas swirling around in my head are something that I want you, as gamers, to enjoy. Video Gaming for me, has always been the best and most creative way at telling a story. Games such as Mass Effect, and Heavy Rain put you in direct control of where the story goes, and gives you the opportunity to leave your personal mark on the story itself. I want to give gamers something like this, but on a much larger scale. I want to make a game where the story is hidden in the world, and up to you to discover it and act on it. I don't want to make a cookie cutter RPG that's been done before. ant to revolutionize the way you, as gamers, view an RPG.
Not only do I want the story to be found through exploration, but I want the story to change as you progress through it. Maybe talking to that guy was the wrong thing to do. Maybe you should have killed him. Maybe he could come back to bite you later... or not. I want the ending of my games to directly impact how I write the next one. Do you kill the final boss? if so that's going to have repercussions. What if you lose the final fight? Well, that character is going to impact the world in some way causing the next game to be that much grimmer. I want to bring the aspect of Dungeon Mastering to Video Games, and the project I'm working on is going to be how i do it.
