Im Ellery. Im 23,I was born in New Orleans, LA. I started playing video games at about 4 or 5 years old. My first system was a regular nintendo, so I started out with mario, duckhunter, and the first Zelda, and it just kinda took off from there. The only memories I have from 5 yrs old are getting lost at an airshow, the pet turtles my mom made me give to my kidnergarden class as class pets, (I think she was tired of the smell), and blowing into my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game cartiage to get it to work when it would freeze on me. My first real "in love" feeling in life came in kidnergarden actually, it was a dark haired girl in my class named Emily I think. I gave her my pickle at recess one day, but she didnt like me. So, I carried on pickless, until my second love came to me in the form of SNES. I loved my super nintendo, and that is when I graduated from just a few games that were mostly named mario and ninja turtles, to all kinds of games and genres. I loved the Megaman X series, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter, TMNT games still. power rangers, and all kinds of stuff. Things have just kinda of gone from there and Later in live when I moved to White Projects, I started to go outside, it was a change for me at the time. I fell in love with football, (not crazy about madden), which lead me to fall in love with basketball, which is now my favorite sport with football as a close second. (Hate NBA LIve, but I love the 2K basketball series). As I got older my interest shifted from platforming to games with more substance, more story enriched. I remember my first playstation was one of the weirdest gifts I had ever gotten because up until that point I had always gotten systems (when I would get them) as christmas presents. SNES, SEGA GEN, N64 were all christmas gifts from previous christmases. (By the way, I loved my Sega Gen and Sonic games, but never as much as my nintendo or eventually my playstation.) My mom is a bingo addict, and she went and won a blackout one day so for no particular reason at all, Not my birthday, not a holiday, I got a playstation. Funny thing was I was into wrestling at the time so my first game was a wrestling game. (looking back, I dont know why I ever liked wrestling so much). I had appricated what my mom did and I thank her, but I had no idea that a system that I had never asked for or even had interest in at the time, would become one of my favorite game systems of all time. Enter the Golden Era of RPGs for the first playstation. So many good Playstation games I couldn't even start to name them, in particularly, this is when I really fell in love with RPGs, which consquently, caused me to fall in love squaresoft and Final Fantasy. FF7,8,9 Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, Chrono Cross, Dragon Warrior 7, just a buttload of good games. Good non-RPG stuff at the time too. Jedi power battles, My beloved Megaman X series cont. like 5-7, too many to count. From there, things progressed. It turns out when the nex gen of consoles came out, while I still love RPG's and had them no.1 in my book, a genre that I had dabbled in before came became a doimant interest rite nxt to RPGs. I really loved fightings game on my PS2 and gamecube. I had Soul Caliber 2 GC version, the ported version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for my PS2. I played super smash bros. melee religiously for a while. Me and my neibors and best friends growing up literally played at least a few hours everyday, way more when we had new competition. We played tag matches, usually stock 3 lives. It was an awesome time in live. Not a care or worry in the world, playing Super Smash Bros, Sonic Adventure 2 battles, the last Sonic game that was worth playing in my opinion. Just really good times with good games. I miss it, but those times are done, gone and over with. Time to face the reality of being an adult, in the military for that matter, and struggling to find time to see friends and play video games while I have to worry about bills and other adult crap. Being an adult is overrated.
