The lights are on
It seems as though major publishers are realizing the importance, and missed opportunity, that is associated with releasing big-budget games in a season that isn't fall. Already this year we are seeing a number of heavy-hitters landing rather than the one "winter-hit" that we used to see (thank you Capcom for giving us Resident Evil 4 in the dead of winter). It seems that they have finally realized that people still play and buy games after Christmas. This year we already have MAG, God of War 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and many others to look forward to - all within the winter/spring seasons. This is great news. Hopefully they can continue the barrage of great games into summer and hopefully we start to see a steady stream all year long rather than only during the holiday season.
I have not been much of a fan of Facebook games. They are overly simple and just plain "time wasters". Why play Farmville when I can play The Sims, Oblivion, or Forza 3?
