The lights are on
DiRT 3 is a straight to the action racing game with plenty of variety to keep things fresh.
Castlevania: a franchise I've known about since my earliest days of gaming. Though I've had my eye on a few of the titles over the years, I never got around to playing any of them. Like most veteran game series with several entries spread out over multiple consoles, I didn't know where to start. Once I saw the teaser trailer for this reboot last year, it seemed pretty clear that Mercury Steam was giving people like me a starting point, a game that didn't require knowledge of the Castlevania lore. On top of that, Kojima Productions was a consultant on this project. Being a Metal Gear fan, that was icing on the cake!
"Seriously, if they're going to keep doing this game series, they need to do something new." Ever found yourself saying that? Me, too.
Did I know what Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was before I played this game? No. Have I ever played River City Ransom (This game's main inspiration)? No. Do I like beat 'em-up games? HECK YES!
Back in 2008, I was pretty psyched for Street Fighter IV (I wrote a blog post about that, if you'd care to read it.) The game was amazing, but I thought it needed a few improvements. In my review of Street Fighter IV, I included a small list of things I didn't like about it. Super Street Fighter IV literally improved everything on my list (except Seth, but I'm over that now.) When the Tournament Mode is released this June, I will have everything I asked for (and more!)
