Reviews for 2015
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D 9.25 - The best of Zelda is brought out through this game, but mechanics and limited dungeons hurt the experience. But it is still important to remember that it is a Zelda on a 3DS, so it is still awesome for what it is.
OlliOlli 2 9 - Great indie game, but its difficulty and lack of creativity hurt the experience.
BOXBOY! 8.25 - I did not realize how deep this game was until it went there and it went there right away. On eof the best puzzle games I have ever played, but it still felt too small.
Broken Age 8.5 - The game's story, humor, and puzzels make it an enjoyable adventure, but I can't help but feel like I wanted to play something every time I played it. The game had trouble holding your attention for as long as it needed to.
Splatoon 9.5 - Splatoon is the freshest game I have ever played and every moment of the game feels 100% satisfying. All the problems, like no voice chat and limited maps, are irrelevant. Once you start playing the game, they never feel like a problem. Except for the horrible pop stars. Besides them, the game is amazing and one of the best I have ever played and the best online shooter I have ever played. Those reviews have no idea what they are playing! They are missing out on the experience of playing an once in a generation game: an IP from Nintendo.
Affordable Space Adventures 8.75 - A very creative and humorous indie game made on the Wii U impressed me with the idea of controling many functions of a ship in order to survive a dangerous planet. Plus your ship is the junkiest model to every be witnessed by man. However, the game seemed unforgiving and unfair at times.
Not of 2015 That I Played This Year
Valiant Hearts 8.5 - I was touched by the story of the game and its story telling but the game is not creative in anyway possible.
CounterSpy 7.5 - This game was a good 5-hour experience, but it gets very frustrating at times hurting what the game does best; making you feel like an awesome spy. In the end it is just a good game.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf 9 - Addictive, fun, and creative for all ages.
Resogun 9.5 - This is the best shoot'em up I have ever played. This is the PS4's best.
E3 Reviews(I was not at E3, but I watched all the conferences)
Bethesda B+: Bethesda put off a great show with very impressive games, but a few gimmicks held it back from being amazing.
Microsoft A-: Microsoft pulled off a very successful conference. They kept showing game after game after game and indies. I now want to buy an Xbox One. However, they lied twice saying that Rise of the Tomb Raider is an Xbox exclusive and saying they have the best line of First Party games. There is no way Xbox have better First Party games than Nintendo.
EA C: I don't like wasting all my time on sports games, but they did show impressive footage of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Star Wars Battlefront, and Unravel.
Ubisoft D: You want to spend all your time swearing, showing off games that seem gimmicky, and spend five minutes on Just Dance. Rainbow Six redeemed the conference.
Sony A-: Sony kept showing us game after game after game just like Microsoft, but Sony had more. However, Sony gave us only a few release windows for their First Party games and Sony's indie games were but a few.
Nintendo A-: Nintendo showed us the best presentation out of everyone and they gave us great games with release dates and windows, unlike Sony's. However, some the games were not special, but Nintendo is not going to have a hard time having the best games for the rest of the year.
Square Enix B+: Square, for the most part, gave their fan base all that they wanted, but all of their games seem toofar off.
Best Conference- Microsft- Microsft gave me reason to buy their console with their killer First Party line up and backwards compatibilty. And this is coming from a typical Microsoft hater and someone who does not have an Xbox One.
Game of Show at E3- Super Mario Maker- Super Mario Maker had a very impressive showing. I have now seen crazy levels that can be designed and that gives me thills. From watching Mario Maker, I know believe, for once, that I can make my own levels because the design is so simple. Mario Maker has sold me and I typically do not like sandbox games, but this one looks outstanding.
Star Fox Zero
Star Wars Battlefront
Rise of the Tomb Raider
2015 Movie Reviews (There will not be many)
Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron 4.5/5 Stars - This movie pulled off the best action sequences I have ever seen with many heroes with a meaningful story. The elements the add to this move are nothing short of fantastic, but a few mistakes kept the movie from a perfect movie.
Inside Out 5/5 Stars - Just go see the movie for yourself. It is just that good, you just have to see and words have a hard time explaining why it was so great and why it just became one of my favorite movies of all time. Expect to cry a little, thanks to Pete Docter's reputation of emotional movies. Just pure AMAZING!
