The lights are on
Long time, no type. Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday and are playing lots and lots AND LOTS of games.
Hello friends. Two blogs ago (though 6 months ago), I discussed a problem: Parents buying crap games for their kids. Now, I have another problem: stores selling their souls to the Devil.
Long time, no blog. This teaching and coaching thing can really start to catch up to you. Not to mention being married.... Not too much time for gaming these days. Sadly, my 360 has become a source more for Netflix and Hulu Plus than for gaming, and when I do, it's usually in small spurts on downloadable games like ilomilo (which is great.. you should get it).
I see it all the time, especially around the holidays. Innocent parents, walking into a Gamestop, and looking like a lost child. Whatever they're looking for, you know they're not gonna find it without help. Fortunately, the sales associate offers advice, gets the parent guided to where they nee
Okay, yeah I like to do these blogs that are VERY late after a game has released. But perhaps some people will have happy recollections of games whenever they see my blogs.
This summer, I got married. I got a new job. I moved into a new house. I got involved in a new church. And least important (but still cool), I got Xbox Live. I have enjoyed quite a bit of fun online with games like Left 4 Dead 2, but the biggest thing that I have gotten a kick out of are Xbox Live Arcade and Indie games. I have purchased about 30 and enjoyed them for hours. In fact, it's been a while since I've played a disc-based game. And now, I have a problem.
I'll be the first to admit that I am a quirky gamer. I don't really play the games that most other folks play. I've never played any of the Call of Duty games online, nor have I ever bought one of the Halo games, despite owning a 360. I also don't really play any sports games, so I don't get to help out many of my friends looking for a challenge there. However, I do play lots of games. Lots of different games. Lots of games that not too many other people play.
So a while back, I recently posted that I was going to be attempting to fix my Xbox 360, whose video went out despite having no red rings. Well, I'm typing this as I watch Netflix on my 360, so that can let you know....
So recently, the video has gone out on my Xbox 360. No red ring of death, no warning signs (besides a little flicker the day before), and poof! Very depressing, especially since it's the long weekend and I was hoping to catch up on some gaming. But life is life, and I have decided that before I send it in to Microsoft and have them fix it for $100 in what would probably take them 10 minutes, I am going to give it a try myself.
Okay, so it's been a while since the last blog post, but I just haven't had the inspiration to write anything lately. In addition, I'm getting married in TWO WEEKS, so I've been working on wedding stuff, as well as what we're doing for the future.
E3 is just around the corner, and every year there are a ton of new games revealed that I get super-excited about. Here is a list of the top 5 I'm going to be paying lots of attention to. I'm not quite sure if they'll show much or not, but here's hoping!
Okay, so this one I will definitely be missing out on as far as a few entries, but that's because I didn't get to play too many old school NES games when I was younger because we were kinda poor. Also, I have not spent as much time racking my brain as I probably should, so maybe I'll remember some down the line. However, I bet you will agree with at least a few of these entries, which are frustrating for oh-so-many reasons.
