After being forced to fight for control of his brand new NES and Super Mario Bros. cartridge at the ripe age of 4, Matt became aware of his love for games pretty early on. Games like Super Mario Brothers 3, Excitebike, and Adventure Island played a pretty huge role in that little dude's life. As time went on though, building forts, competitive four square, and doing awesome bike stunts took priority in Matt's life, causing him to do unspeakable things like never own a Super NES. However, Matt remained a casual gamer throughout his younger years and was fortunate enough to experience some pretty unforgettable moments in gaming history. It wasn't until late highschool and college that Matt began to take videogames a little more seriously. Participating in LAN-parties, hardcore Pro Skater 3 trick attack matches, and more time with current-gen games sparked a greater interest in what would soon become his favorite pastime. Fast forward to 2008 where Matt, being equally as bored as he was inspired, took a shot at creating his very own videogame podcast. The bittersweet venture called "Midwest Gamer Podcast" was officially put to rest after 12 episodes, but gave Matt a true understanding of the videogame industry and the increasingly awesome community surrounding it. These days, in addition to writing for a few other game-related outlets, Matt does a semi-regular videogame show called "Matt Plays Videogames".
