On a slow summer day in Brad's fifth year, his father turned on the SNES, handed Brad the controller, and let him play Super Mario World. Since then, hardly more than a week or two has gone by that he hasn't played a game. More often than not, it's not a day or two.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was Brad's first 3D game, and it blew his young mind. That game alone instilled in him a desire to make expansive fictional worlds, which eventually lead to a lifelong passion of writing. It also made him want to live in such an expansive fictional world, and that's where a love of adventure and role-playing games was born.
Having come a long way from Nintendo fanboyism and the Super Nintendo, Brad spends his gaming time battling through an insurmountable backlog spread across all platforms and genres. He also enjoys taking to the Internet and talking about games, usually about game design, gender, and how Mass Effect is crazy awesome.
When not sitting in front of the television or computer, Brad attempts to write novels. Sometimes, he succeeds. There's also reading novels and comic books, discussing games across the Internet, and taking long, thoughtful walks. Brad attends the University of Toledo, majoring in English with a focus on creative writing. Someday, he hopes to write professionally, as a published novelist, a gaming journalist, or, Goddesses willing, plotting out the latest bitingly clever game.
