I'm a freelance cellist, but I do play a fair amount of video games considering how much time my self-education (and hopefully career) takes up. I mostly do classical music, but I really will listen to anything but Rap and Country. I am an avid reader, and I write poetry (and occasionally fiction).

I really like retro games, and different sorts of games that don't neatly fit into categories (although the stereotypical fit 'Indigo Prophecy' certainly let me down after the first hour...). I have been a follower of the Prince of Persia series since its PC/Mac inception back in the day, and though I have fallen off the Zelda bandwagon from not purchasing a Wii, I still love the franchise. I adore an immersive sandbox RPG, especially one that has a good combat system (concerning which any game has not yet satisfied my desires). I can't really get into the whole turn-taking battle system thing (sorry FF series, I tried), but I do enjoy a good Ninja/Samurai adventure on occasion, especially one that will challenge me (Genma Onimusha, Ninja Gaiden series, DMC 1 + 3).

I have always wanted to write walkthroughs and reviews of older games...so maybe here I'll do that for fun. I have never been a person to buy games when they first come out (exceptions: Skyrim, Halo 2, Zelda: Majora's Mask), so I probably won't be able to get into the major commenting/reviewing action on the newer games. :(
