The lights are on
The moment I heard about this game, mainly the story aspect drew me right in, it has a great plot, and has some amazing set pieces. The base of the game is that you are enslaved by a woman to help her return to her home, but this plot enlarges and takes you on a Trip to save mankind, which is why the woman's name is Trip, since she takes you on one hell of an adventure. Ultimately it becomes in a sense a love story, the collar turns into a bond between the two main characters. The gameplay is solid and the upgrade system is adequate, the platforming is smooth and easy to use, however it is fall free. The graphics are unique and truly wowed me at times, there is one particular section of the game where it is a vast exspanse of land and it lacks much scenery, and seemed to have been neglected. Other than these minor issues the story absolutely engrossed me, I played this game start to finish on normal difficulty in around 9 hours. Might I add in one sitting I enjoyed it that much. I give the game an 8.25 it was wonderful, but It could have been so much better the potential was there, but it wasn't used to it's fullest.
When I first went to the store to buy this game I expected a solid game with an alright story, and decent gameplay. I could not have been more wrong about this game. I figured it got an 8.5 and that it got solid reviews I'd enjoy this game. However I was not ready for the experience I was about to take part in. If I said Alan Wake blew me away that would be an understatement, If anything Alan Wake is a Whirlwind of pure genius. The story to this game at first might sound simple and nothing new, but it will far surpass those initial thoughts. The story takes twists and turns and may be confusing but is understood in the end. While some questions remain unanswered, this only adds to the creativity in this title since there are so many possibilities, you might as well not even try to make sense of this game, but more so have faith in the story, and let it take you on a ride you won't soon forget. While it has limited length, you can easily playthrough twice, as well as get the newly released DLC. I actually recommend you play this game twice if not a third time just to truly grasp the story. The gameplay mechanics are new and innovative, and the graphics and scenery are particularly breathtaking at times. You will begin to travel through the woods, and a half an hour later you will end up at your location, only to look back at a vast expanse of terrain that is almost incomprehensible to believe you traveled through in such a short period. And if you like collectibles boy will you have a ball, and if you don't no worries because I guarantee you'll find yourself searching for that hidden chest or for that page just beyond your grasp. all of this being said between it's twists and turns, and riveting story line, Alan wake has most certainly left it's mark.
Many may not not his but this is a remake/sequel of the previous game Red Dead Revolver, it was not a bad game but was not highly praised either. In the new installment of Red Dead you are the very strong spirited and hardened criminal named John Marston. John is fighting for his families survival the Government has given him an ultimatum kill his old gang members or they will kill his wife and child. While this game has a lot of Rockstar elements it is definitely a stand alone from the GTA series.
This game has an awesome story line that is easy to understand even if you are not familiar with previous titles.I thought the fact that for Co-op there was a completely separate story line was awesome, it has great multiplayer for 2. Even though the story line may only be 6-7 hours (on hardest difficulty) It is easily replayable, and so is the Co-op which is another 4 hours. I think you could easily get your moneys worth, and the game does come with an added bonus, Which would be the Ghost Recon Beta Testing that is included with the game. This being said I enjoyed every second of this game even the stealth missions. The only downside is that even though it is easy to follow if you have not played previous titles you are not fully aware of certain characters and Sam Fishers past. This is why I give Splinter Cell Conviction a 9.5 out of 10.
