The lights are on
Whether it's Half-Life's well-polished single-player experience, Left 4 Dead's intense multiplayer mayhem, or the amusing puzzle-like experience that was Portal, it's hard to argue with Valve pedigree, but you can certainly try if you'd like.
Though Portal 2 reached a satisfying ending, I hope I can visit Aperture one more time. What do you think will happen in the next installment of the Portal series if they make one?
never, it's been brought to my attention Valve either can't count to three or they're scared of the number lol.
Left Dead 2
Half-Life 2
Half Life Part 2
Portal 2
Team Fortress 2
I really want another Left 4 Dead and Portal though! I love them!
Ha. Yeah, and, all those games are in first person, never in 3RD person
more backstory who is the protagnist we play has who is her father becauce accroding to gLaDoS she's here becace it's bring you dauther to work day but i would like to know how was appature before appature was taken over by gLaDos cave johnson did'nt really explain much
I didn't even think about the 3rd Person thing. This is getting really odd.
I would like more backstory, but at the same time Portal is about YOU. You are the protagonist, you stopped GLaDOS. Valve even said what they wanted is that you were the character, and Chell is just your ticket into the world of Aperture. Chell's name was apparently dug out from the files, it was supposed to never appear.
I"m would be perfectly fine with a spin off story, possibly with the Rat Man as the protagonist and that story to explain how Aperture came to be. AT LEAST make a third game to any of their existing IPs right now.
Well they've already casually admitted that Portal 3 is in the works: www.thesixthaxis.com/.../valve-mentions-portal-3-tsa-cries
In any case, it might as well be on the moon or another planet, given the backstory surrounding the series.

I don't know... I thought... maybe a Rat Man backstory? Or even just a random dude who happens to stuble upon Aperture Science Labs. No matter how (Well, somewhat how), I'd just like Portal 2 sequel.
I think Chell and GLADOS could team up to fight Wheatley after his return from space.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they don't bring Chell back into it, whatever they decide to do. Her ending in Portal 2 was perfect, and I really don't want them to mess it all up by bringing her back.
I think a partial crossover into the Half-Life universe would be pretty awesome. Maybe as an experimental weapons program that goes awry?

You do realize Portal is already apart of the Half-Life universe, right? The characters just don't intertwine in any way.
Yeah, I know. But that's what I was talking about. Bringing them together in a way that the characters DO interact, or are at least relevant to the story.
Yeah, I agree. That's sounds like a good sequel.
And yeah, I really wouldn't want a Sequel with Chell in it either.
I think that Chell should continue to be the protagonist of the series. She's essentially the female Gordon Freeman, as far as I can imagine, so removing her would definitely not be something I'm up to unless they can pull it - and we all know they can - off without a hitch. I'd definitely want to see a more exotic location, possibly open in some areas that add context to the overarching fiction.
On one hand, it would be great to continue to use Chell in alternative locations. On the other, it might get very difficult to explain. For example, unless moon rock juice is sprayed across most of the Earth, you'll only be able to use portals in a city environment.
The problem with that is- how would Valve decide what walls did or did not allow portals? Are all the buildings made out of two different materials? Or, if you twitch, might you shoot out of a portal nine stories higher than where you were supposed to?
And, of course, we wouldn't have GLaDOS unless she hacked the entire city and could spray witticisms at us at any time. She was sort of a defining characteristic of Portal and Portal 2- she can't be excluded. At least, not easily.
