The lights are on
You like shooters because you like the sense of power they give you. Few games are as skilled at making you feel like a competent warrior as Infinity Ward's Call of Duty series. Every bullet has a story. Take a moment and tell us a few of yours.
You do realize that what you're saying contradicts what IW (when Zampella and West still had control over it) did for the shooter genre, right?
They reinvented the shooter genre twice over, starting with MOH:AA.
What has Treyarch ever done to receive as much or more recognition than those two?
(not hating on Treyarch but I'd prefer to stick with the facts)
No, let me rephrase: IW did reinvent the FPS with CoD4. Past that, Call of Duty really didn't change much. The success of CoD is really only becaus CoD4 was an amazing game. Treyarch just kind of copies IW and reskins t. That's why I'm concerned over Black Ops 2: because it's not using the IW formula.
I agree I was talking about MW3 COd 4 is the best but after that its just the same stuff just updated things, and what I was also saying is with treyarch they went from WAW a same old WWII game as all the others and gave us Black Ops a complete change in direction to all the other ones, thats all I was saying they changed alot. IW went from COD 4 to MW2 then MW3 they didn't make any drastic changes that were needed. Now we have Black Ops 2 you go from the 1960's to 2025 that's a really big change. If they would of just kept the same year and just updated it with new guns and stuff it would of sucked, it wouldn't really be changing anything. I don't hate IW I just think they could of done more but they dropped the ball, I was probably a little to harsh on them but its what I believe.
Nuke Town is back!!! Now with this they could have a nuke town 24/7 again.
Nuketown is probably the best map that the COD franchise has ever made. If not that then it has to be Terminal on MW2.
I completely Agree with that
To mean that
nothing ... Where they would say something, and he would finish it, like he
I do wonder how it will look like and if they'll add anything new.
It is suppose to resemble a futuristic housing block but at the same time still resemble the same layout as the first Nuke Town.
Sounds like they are working hard to make this the best COD yet. Lets hope its up to speed on launch day and that they stick to there plans and not pull certain things at the last minute like they did with MW3, and the ability to camo secondaries and the 9 bang.
So I don't know if this counts as news but I'll post it.
David Vonderhaar posted this soundbite of something in Black Ops 2.
What do you guys make of this?
It seems intresting and its not the same as the other ones. All the other COD games seemed all the same. But the Black Ops series seems like a unique first person shooter. Black Ops II reminds me of THE TERMINATOR battles scenes in th movie.
What do you guys make of this?
I like how the new Black Ops is shaping up. Since it's Treyarch, you can expect an engaging story; especially if the same writers of the first Black Ops are involved. With a futuristic setting, I'm excited and hopeful that we'll see the series take a new approach to gameplay - and level design, which is getting a bit repetitive in terms of its linearity. Cool weapons wouldn't hurt either. DLC will most likely be more zombies and multiplayer maps. I'd like to see more missions added though, since this game has a lot of potential story-wise.

What do you mean by missions like spec ops missions because thats what IW dose and it sucks no replay value at all. They will probably bring us game modes, multiplayer maps and zombie maps for sure. I would like to see gun packs like 1 gun for each class, SMG Assault, LMG, Sniper. Also mabe extra camoes for the guns per DLC released, so each release they can amp up the camoes so that the last drop looks the coolest. Tomarrow they are suppose to give us a glimps at the multiplayer portion of BO2, lets hope its up to par.
I agree with Orochi about possible Story missions or maybe new strike force missions being added by DLC. Also agree with what Gump said about having new guns in the way he described it.
On the multiplayer reveal I read some where that BO2 Multiplayer will be playable at a GameStop Convention in Texas.
