The lights are on
You like shooters because you like the sense of power they give you. Few games are as skilled at making you feel like a competent warrior as Infinity Ward's Call of Duty series. Every bullet has a story. Take a moment and tell us a few of yours.
Now that Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist is gone, what do you think they will set up for their next potential Call of Duty game? Will it be another Modern Warfare? Or do you think they will take us back to the days of the World Wars? What about a whole new concept? Leave your ideas below.
Bowling, to my understanding, was really just a glorified community manager. The mouthpiece for IW to the fans. Considering the volitile nature of the CoD fanbase, he did an excellent job in that position... but really his departure doesn't change much of anything from where I'm standing. The devs will keep doing what they're doing.
If its another Modern Warfare...I'm going to lose a lot of faith in COD. I want it to be maybe another WW2 game but with huge updates, or maybe something of the Korean war would be cool. Hell even a Persian Gulf war would be cool.
Either that or Future warfare.
I never thought of it like that... but it makes sense. He still had SOMETHING to do with the actual games though... right?
I think they need to change up their gameplan; go with either a Korean War which hasn't been done to my recollection or a Persian Gulf theme would be cool. Just saying! Or they could do a Vietnam War theme. Don't think that has been done before when it comes to fps. Just my humble opinion; my honest thoughts! Anyone agree or disagree?
I'm a gamer; a lover of music!
There was the big Vietnam expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. And Black Ops was Vietnam, si?
No! Blacks Ops was the Cold War, NOT Vietnam, if I'm not mistaken. It had scenes of Castro and the Bay of Pigs; that was the Cold War. The Vietnam War has not been covered, I don't believe BUT I could be wrong. Just saying; if I am I'll be the first to admit so.
Good take, generally agree. He was "damage control".
I want to know more about him leaving. He was the one who openly said something along the lines of giving away free "throwback" map packs, and I believe he had a few other comments about wanting servers and such. And now everyone is crying foul over "hacking/glitching"; although I havn't once seen it personally, only a couple boosters; so I wonder if it has anything to do with that.
Black Ops coverd both wars but they ended it with just a taste of Vietnam that is why they are making a new one which covers the entire Vietnam war. Robert Bowling didn't have much to do with the dev of the game, as you guys said he was maily the spokes person and gave feed back to the devs. Nothing is really going to change with him gone, you just probably are not going to have anybody talking about how the game is going and stuff. We will be completely in the dark from now on untill they hire somone else, the devs will do what the devs want to do so, it dosn't matter if hes gone or not. All in all I trully think Robert Bowling was on our side is in it weird? I always thought that anyone part of COD was out for themselves and didn't care what the community thought.
They really should stop with MW3 in the MW series because they already finished the story and Activision doesn't need to milk it like they are doing to the entire COD series.
I think that is the last one in the Modern Warfare series. Who knows what is going to be next for them, I gusse a futuristic one like sc-fi type stuff, or just go back to the old school wars who really knows where they will go from here. I don't really care what they do because in my opinion Treyarch is where it's at.
