The lights are on
This is you one-stop-spot for all thing Battlefield. From 1942 to Bad Company 2 and beyond, this is a great place to meet other players, talk matches and even recruit new clan members.
It seems that BF3 will be a port on consoles. How? PC has 64 player online while consoles are limited to 24. 32 to 24 wasn't a drastic difference on BFBC2. But on BF3 It seems as though they will have to cut out a lot of things to make a 64 player designed map (PC is the focus platform) to cater to a 24 player map and make it enjoyable. PC will also run smoother. consoles are outdated to PCs that can upgrade themselves with the newest tech every month so why bother with a slower framerate and lower player count? Many Battlefeild fans are also gearing up for BF3 by BUYING PCs that will run it. On top of this news DICE even states that BF3 is a sequel faithful to it's longtime PC players. If that doesn't sound like a minimally downgraded console version to me. It sounds like a drastic downgrade to consoles.
Which is why I am now going to ditch my Xbox 360 and build my own PC that can run BF3. I will find a job and put all of that money toward it. (I might have enough to do it before the game comes out later this year).
What do you guys think, should I play for PC or stick with my Xbox?
I think that Dice is screwing the pooch on this one, so to speak. I have nowhere near the money to get a gaming PC, and I've been waiting six years for what, a watered down port? Shame on you Dice.
Yea i know what you mean. And i definitely don't want a console port (BF:MC anyone). Hopefully I can get a PC that will run it. I also heard that making a gaming PC is cheaper but IDK.
Yeah, I'm saving every penny I've got for a new Alienware by March.
Don't get an Alienware. I have one myself, and you can save a few hundred $ if you know how to build it yourself. Back on topic though, this is a pretty tough decision for me. Better port, or playing it with friends? I mght get both, seeing as how I will probably be putting hundreds of hours into it either way.
PC. That is how I have played my Battlefield games, except BFBC. I have always enjoyed my PC experiences significantly more than my console experiences.
Idk, im usually the guy who buy fps games for console but if i have to sacrifice graphics and 32-40 extra players per map, im going to go PC
not me, i'm buying BF3 on PS3 i like consoles, sorry but i hate PCs...
i would buy it for the PC, but i have no clue how to build a good gaming pc, so im just going to get it on 360
Let me tell that the PC is a lot much bigger than ( in terms of quantity of players that can play) the consoles but i am going to take for my ps3 maybe it has 24 but its big enough for me
im not really good with playing shooters on PC because im so used to paying games on my consoles. If it wasn't for that, i would most likely get BF3 for the PC.
Getting a gaming PC for BF3. PC would be the best for BF3 and all BF games. That's why I'm getting a gaming PC!
i would love to get it on a computer... but i just dont have the time and money to buy or even build a pc that can run it. plus im used to consoles... still im kinda bummed that the 360 version is only gona be 12v12. that blows.
