The lights are on
This is you one-stop-spot for all thing Battlefield. From 1942 to Bad Company 2 and beyond, this is a great place to meet other players, talk matches and even recruit new clan members.
If you haven't been watching G4, or don't have a TV, Bad Company 2 is getting an expansion pack called Bad Company 2: Vietnam. This expansion is going to be released on all platforms: PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The Expansion will include 4 new maps set in the 1960's controversial warzone.
We have yet to get the details about the weapons, new game modes, or another campaign.
In other news, Medal of Honor is releasing an open beta for PC, PS3 and Xbox on June 21. But if you want to access it early EA has a new Gun Club community network for the battlefield games and Medal of honor games.
You can watch the trailor at www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com or you can search Battlefield Bad Company: Vietnam on Youtube.
Looks pretty amazing to me, but I'm confused whether or not it will be singleplayer, multiplayer, or both.
Most likely both. They wouldn't half ass it. I can actually see it possibly being 40 or 50 dollars considering it's a expansion.
So far I've heard that there are including 4 multiplayer maps set in Vietnam.
Well they already have huge ones from the first Vietnam game. So they could just remake those. I mean, they all were based off of real battles.
I doubt there will be any single player in the expansion. Has DICE ever done a single-player expansions? I don't believe they have.
From the amount of content announced, I'm guessing a price point anywhere from $15-30.
I'm guessing about $15. $30 is too much i think.
Oh, and does anyone know anything about the WWII Springfied in Bad Company 2?
Evidence: go to the Bad Company 2 website > login > "my soldier" > "war room" > "symbols" > "weapons" > page 4.
There's also the Bayonet, I think that will come with Vietnam.
Okay, here's what I'm really wondering. Is the going to release as a disc thing and on the PSN/XBLA?
Or one or the other?
Also, is it going to be the same maps from BF Vietnam but with destruction?
DICE/EA is going to have to fix their server issues if I'm going to buy any more DLC, expansion packs or otherwise from them. I have only been able to play BC2 once since I payed $10 for Onslaught mode over a week ago. I keep getting the message "unable to connect to EA servers". It is very discouraging!
I believe it's disc. I think it will be too much content for DLC. And I doubt they'll be the same maps from Vietnam. Even though they were pretty good.
If it's on a disc, it better be worth it. I'm talkin' new weapons, vehicles, levels, character models, etc. I'm not saying 2 new things for each, it should be a disc's worth. If not, then it should be DLC.
If they can offer BC 1 as downloadable content on Xbox Live or PSN, they can package Battlefield: Vietnam the same way as they did Battlefield 1943. This will most likely be DLC because of the associated increased profit margin but I could be wrong. We're not talking about Infinity Ward here lol.
