The lights are on
Mass Effect was one of the most action-packed space odysseys we've ever experienced, and it has at least two sequels that look to up that ante in nearly every way. Whether you are new to the universe or an experienced explorer, feel free to pull up a chair
When playing ME2, which of the loyalty missions are your favorite and why?For me, it would be Jacob and Tali for now.Tali- We learn more about her & the reason why the council has abandoned her,
Jacob- We learn more about who he is; the backstory makes more sense in regards to its relation to the overall storyline shown in ME2.
I'm a gamer; a lover of music!
Legion- we see the world of Mass Effect from the point of a major race in the galaxy. It is even better if you take Tali with you on this mission after her loyalty mission.
Grunt- because of: Wrex, colusseum fight, head butting another Krogan.
Samara- rarely do we got to bait our opponent in the series, glad she helps me in ME3.
Mordin- the Salarians do not look so saint now do they?
I really like Garrus' loyalty mission. Walking that fine line of justice and revenge and you having the control on what path Garrus decides to go down was awesome. I also enjoyed Jack's because you get to see just how vulnerable she really is. She's not as tough as she'd like you to believe and you get to see that first-hand on her loyalty mission.
It's so difficult to say which is my favorite because the entire story of building a team and walking with them through their personal journeys will always hold a special place in my heart. Jack and Jacob confronting the ghosts in their pasts; Miranda seeing that maybe she doesn't have to nor can she be perfect and completely control everything; Mordin having his life's work questioned, leading to his ultimate reversal in ME3; even Zaeed's and Kasumi's missions touched on a personal side giving depth to the narrative. I know it might sound like a cop-out, but my favorite is... all of them.
Now that I think of it, you are right, EVERY LOYALTY mission was amazing and well crafted, even Liara who we got AN ENTIRE DLC and a conversation on the Normandy just to help her. She is my best friend aside from Garrus and Ashley(LI) to my Luis Shepard.
I am saddened that we did not get the same kind of missions for our crew in ME3, Mars was an amazing touch if Ashley/Kaidan are one of your LI from the first game and loyal to them, but come on Bioware, how about with Ashley case we get to discover the real reason for her family to be blacklisted all the time (one of the Mass Effect comics featured her grandfather being friends with the Illusive Man), with Vega we get to go on a mission where we meet some of his friends from Paragon Lost and let him be on a mission similar to Garrus. Javiik, we go to a Prothean ruin that just happen to be the site of a Collector colony that survived the events of ME2 (the appear in the multiplayer component), Wrex had his Loyalty mission in ME 1 as a matter of fact, his family armor and Virmire. Kaidan could have just be… I need help with him.

Yeah it's a darn shame they did not have a real loyalty mission system or something similar in ME3, they are the reason that ME2 characters are so endearing to me despite the somewhat less amount of dialog. I know they kinda have the excuse of "the galaxy is in the process of extinction" and all but hey if Shepherd has enough time to visit clubs, do quests for random NPC's, and go on wild goose chases he has enough time to help a friend.
My favorite has to be Mordin's. Jacob's was pretty good. Seeing lose that naivete of his as it progressed was impressive, especially as it reached the climax.
