The lights are on
BioWare knows how to tell a good story, and Dragon Age is no exception. With six different origin stories, a stack of side quests to complete, and a variety of player decisions that effect the kingdom of Ferelden, it's unlikely any two players shared the s
Well, I just installed my copy of Dragon Age: Origins and I've played up to the lighting of the beacon (I'm not quite there yet for reasons I'm about to convey) and for the most part, I can see this game having a great deal of potential.
I'm running this game on a Dell Studio 1737 laptop with the following specs:
Intel Pentium CORE 2 DUO T6600 2.2GHz
4.0 GB DUAL CHANNEL DDR2 SDRAM (800MHz)
320 GB HARD DRIVE
ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 3650
So why is it, unless I'm delusional about the capabilities of my laptop, that I get CONSTANT freezing in my game to the point where it either slows to a spasmodic crawl or hangs altogether? I tried turning off my virus protection (avast! free vers.), nothing. I tried closing some system processes. Nothing. I even tried updating the drivers for my video card, BIOS and just about everything else.Still freezes. I tried lowering the resolution and intensity of the graphics fidelity to no avail too (and isn't the purpose of having a more powerful PC to enable me to PLAY these games on a higher res?).
So is it a common problem? Should I reinstall the game and hope for the best? What's the deal?
Its because you are on a laptop. It's the fact that all the system components are so compressed together. Same system on desktop would work fine.
Are you serious? My issues with DA:O freezing is because everything is squished together? I so want this to be true so that I can laugh my ass off.
It sucks i play hellgate london too and i lag and freeze on a regular basis but my bro on his comp runs smooth. my system is better then his.
