The lights are on
Which Need for Speed series is your favorite? Are you more of a Shift sim racer, or do you favor the older Underground imprint? Let's not quibble. We've all got lead feet.
I recently purchased NFS Shift and am very pleased with it. I generally enjoy the NFS games, I thought Most Wanted was better than Carbon, and I didn't even bother with Pro Street. Shift is a welcome change for the franchise. One of my favorite things about Shift is that even if you don't finish a race in the top 3, you still get money, points, and awards for the race. So it's not one of those games that makes you feel like throwing your controller across the room if you don't get 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
You get points for how aggressive you race and also how well you race. So, if you want to drive by the rules and take every corner with perfect precision, you're welcome to do so. But, if you feel the need to plow another racer off of the track, you won't be punished for doing so. The cockpit view is also a nice feature and goes well with the force feed back wheel.
I feel that Shift is a nice change from the open world, cop chase gameplay that has been overdone.
Shift looks like a great game to me, and I would love to add it to my NFS collection, since the most recent I have is Most Wanted. However, I'll wait until I get a 360 before I get it because it looks best on that system to me.
I wonder if it is even out on PS2 and Wii, but I think it is just PS3 and 360, right?
Yes, to my knowledge Shift is only on 360 & PS3. Wii is supposed to get it's own NFS game called Nitro, but I haven't heard anything about it recently.
Well, I probably won't get that since I overall dislike the way racing games are on the Wii.
I really didnt think I would enjoy Shift, since I generally, well, suck at sim racing...but my bf refuses to play any underground with me, because he's not used to losing- esp. to a girl LoL. But Shift allowed me to tweak n get some computer assistance with braking n such so in the end it plays like my arcade style =) I still have my fingers crossed for another underground, but this will do for now.
Shift looks good, but, I'm not to sure. The NFS that I grew up with included, cop chases, street speeding and wrecking petite little station wagons, shift does not look anything like this. I really don't go for carefully designed racing, and tracks.
i tottaly agree with u is an awesome game.
I can't get it cause i don't have 360 or PS3 but it lookes really good, i recently good undercover and it had a really great storyline to me and awesome car combonations
Shift is a good game, but also, it pisses me off online because of the kids who don't even race, they just turn around and run into people.
I wasn't sure on Shift. I have purchased all of the series for the 360 , starting my NFSMW (my favorite), and it has gone from best to worse. I havn't played Shift, and it sounds good, but idk...
NFS Shift is one of the best NFS games I have played.
My favorite feature in NFS Shift is the cars and the courses. In NFS Shift you can get more up class cars, and you will enjoy some great professional courses.
My one problem with Shift is that you can't customize tier 5 cars beyond visual modifications. Otherwise, I enjoy the track racing and especially all of the super cars.
