The lights are on
WoW has dominated the MMO scene - and the PC world - for a reason: it's the best game in the genre. At least, that's how you see it. After traveling from Silithus to Northrend, you've got a lot of experiences you'd like to share with those just starting ou
Could the Cataclysm that's coming ruin WoW? I'm concerned because I haven't experience all of the content yet. I don't want to lose the opportunity to see some of the cooler moments from the pre-BC content. I'm sure it will be an improvement overall, but I don't want to lose the core WoW experience.
Well, you answered your own questions pretty much - it will be a MASSIVE improvement overall, with many people I talk to essentially calling it WoW 1.5. If you want to see the current content (and we don't know the extent of old raids sticking around) there is still plenty of time to do so - in my opinion, find groups for blackwing lair and ahn'qiraj, as Molten Core is obviously more dated and honestly not that much fun.
It will be a total overhaul of what is called the "Old World", just referring to pre-BC land. As I understood it, very little will be left the same. I know that Motlen Core, Blackwing Lair, Blackrock Spire and Blackrock Depths may very well be going the way of the Dodo with the changes they announced, so get those in right away. Everything you see now is going to be significantly changed, and Blizzard seems to want to promote total war between the Alliance and Horde, so expect to see more world PvP options and quests.
Long story short, experience Pre-BC stuff now, while you can, because no one, even Blizzard, can't guarantee what and what will not be there when all is said and done.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
In my opinion your not going to miss much...the content that was brought during the WOTLK expansion redifined the way to play WoW. From phasing to quests that push the story forward while completing what you were able to do in the old world minus the boring kill 20 bears to collect 5 pelts. I think you won't miss much at all...my opinion.
I'm freaking out too although i'm excited for it. I still haven't made an alliance player to level 58+ and i really want to experience that before they nuke it.
I am actually excited for Cataclysm. Actually evolving the world to match the lore is awesome. Honestly I don't know if there were enough cool moments in pre-BC content that I would miss them.
I can't wait for Cataclysm, it's going to be awesome
Hoorah!
WoW is awesome and i love every thing about it so yeah i dont want anything to happen to it
It happens to look pretty sick with DEATHWING!!!!
OMG cant wait to fly my flyer everywhere.... FO TEH ALLIANCE!!!
Cataclysm will do nothing but make wow better even better.
I like that old dungeons are being revamped into 85 dungeons with heroic difficulty.
I'm very eager to see what class restrictions they'll be lifting when this game finally goes live.
I'd have to say that if you didn't experience "vanilla WoW" when it was current, you can't really experience it. Sure you can go do the old dungeons and raids, but right now it's all about leveling as fast as you can to get to WotLK. The directions they've taken to evolve WoW have all been good so far, so I would say look forward to Cataclysm with hungering anticipation.
Im curious, though obviously quite premature. I wonder where the story line will go after Cataclysm. I've heard it mentioned this would be the last expansion for the game, though I dont think they were reputable sources. Are their any story lines from WC-WC3 they havent hit up yet? Perhaps a wiki link if there is?
