Well, they've got plenty of lore to work with (and good writers), but there are precious few good movies based off games. I'll definitely go see it opening night, but I'm not getting over-hyped about it.

All of these names had had a large role in at least two movies prior to LOTR.

I agree with the above...we have a huge budget with great writers and a great director. I only hope they don't cast big names in the movie, instead choose to go with some unknown names like LOTR.

I belive were Hollywood messes up is that Movie like this does not need to be live action. It needs to be done in CGI like the opening of the games. This would prevent any Real world limits, and not cause cheap CG work inlaced to live action. Hollyowood is scared of the CG movie cause Final Fantasy....but in reality the plot ruined that movie.

If they keep doing Game to movie Films this way it will never get better...hollywood still treats it with a games are for kids mantilty.

I thought Max Payne was widely under rated as well, though Doom could have been much better. As far as the WoW movie? Well, one would think that its budget would be fairly large, and I can't imagine Blizzard letting anyone other than their writers have a go at the script. If those two criteria are met, which I would assume they would be met, then it will probably turn out alright. It's going to have to be a completely neutral story though, because the last thing they want to do is alienate the Horde or Alliance fanbois.

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
