The lights are on
Come one, come all to the official Borderlands group! Talk weapons and more!
I don't know how many of you in here have had the opportunity to finish of the General Knoxx DLC, but if you have, maybe you feel the same way I do. Without giving anything away (I talked about it in more detail on my blog), it's starting to feel seriously, SERIOUSLY padded. Like, hours of gameplay that don't add...well, anything of value, really. Aside from Crawmerax, it's all just quests that involve doing things you've done a hundred times over already, but aren't available for completion until after you've offed General Knoxx.
If you know what I'm talking about, what are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that its just like a lot of the game. Meaningless quests that add time until they either make a sequel or a new storyline DLC.
A fair thought, I suppose...but I never got the feeling from any of the other side quests that I was simply rinsing and repeating for hours on end something I had done a thousand times over without the need for a quest, and with no credit towards completion of the quest, because hey, it wasn't available yet.
I can certainly see your point about how it can feel like you are doing a whole lot of work for a whole lot of nothing, however that DLC is nothing compared to the Mad Moxxi's Underdome DLC. I don't know what's more frustrating than killing HUNDREDS of baddies to gain NO EXP whatsoever aside from the EXP that you receive when you complete one of the arenas. That EXP doesn't even compensate for the hours of frustration put into that particular DLC. There are definitely parts of the General Knoxx DLC that can be frustrating, however I feel that finally getting to the vault at the end 3 separate times (more if you glitch it) is worth it.
