The lights are on
Things in life are often better when you have a friend in tow, and gaming is no different. Come find someone to watch your back.
army of 2 borderlands and l4d 1 and2
Oh god, I can only pick one? Some of my best moment of bonding between me and some of my close friends are during co-op gaming.
Me and my brother played through both Gears of War games together, he as Marcus and I as Dom. Whether or not Jack Daniels was added to the equation depended on how late we were playing =P
Last New Year's Eve, a close friend of mine who was on his way out to college played through the entirety of Army of Two with me. He is a shooter novice, so it was a great experience letting him explore the customization and pimp out our weapons. We eventually developed the strategy of him being the aggro-hog while I rushed the battlefield melee-ing everyone and shooting them at point blank with my maxxed out Desert Eagle.
Lastly, shortly after Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 came out, a different friend of mine came over, and we cleared the entire game in one sitting as the Thunderbolts. Afterwards, he ate cornbread in my kitchen and some epic bromance.
In short, Co-op = Bromance.

I've ironically got a great co-op memory... but I was playing the co-op mode by myself. I managed to beat the second hardest level in Syndicate's co-op (New England) on hard. To be clear, you have to fight four fully-armed agents along with constantly spawning soldiers in a relatively small area. There's some decent cover but... it wasn't designed or tested for you to play by yourself. The only harder level would be Colorado, which is nearly impossible to solo since you need someone to protect the dropzone or your evac helicopter will be blown apart.
I am Paradigm the Fallen.
That's "Para-dime". Not "Pair-of-dig-em".
