What is GIO Frag-Fest?: A monthly meeting for the GameInformer.com online community. We communicate through the site on a daily basis, and we all love to game... yet getting together to actually play has always proven difficult, and this helps! Different members might attend for different reasons, but in the end it's all about the camaraderie... through bloodshed.

Do the events follow a schedule?: The last Saturday of every month, start time is usually around 13:00 PST - Mark your calendars! Having a scheduled time and date that is known weeks in advance should make it as easy as possible for you to insure your own attendance. Some main events may break this schedule, keeping holidays in mind and such - and there have been bonus events as well. Just stay tuned to this group for any and all updates on upcoming events.

What happens on the day of the event exactly?: Party leaders and grouping info are always available here in the forum the day before the event to ensure everyone has each others info. At the appointed start time designated party leaders will send invites to attendees and we're on our way! Once you've joined your group just throw on a headset and have fun ;) Do bear in mind that your voice and in-game actions may be recorded and posted for the event highlight reel video.

How are the games for each event chosen?:

Note: Bonus events will occasionally be hosted in-between the main monthly events, that put the spotlight on new releases. Example: Resistance 3 releases on September 9th, and Gears of War 3 on September 20th (Tuesdays)... those games will surely see a lot of week one sales, so on the Saturday of that same week, we will put together a launch party FragFest, so to say. You play your favorite games all the time, so why not try something new every month with your GameInformer.com buddies?

What if I don't have the game? I can't afford this!: You have options!

GameFly is your friend - If you're not already a member, try it risk free. Introductory rates start at just 10$ for your first month and 15$ after that. I look at it this way, you get over 3 months of rentals for less than the price of a new game. Considering how many games you could completely finish in 3 months time, it's silly not to have GameFly.

Another method: Set aside about 60$ for unlimited 7 day rentals from your local GameStop. How, you ask? Take full advantage of the 7-day return policy on used titles. Pick up the game used, and just bring it back within 7 days for a full refund. It may seem exploitative, but this practice is something most employees I have encountered are fully aware of customers doing on a regular basis, and they don't seem to mind.

Everything sounds good, where do I sign up?: Attendance for each event is coordinated through the separate posts here in the FragFest forum. Duplicate announcement posts will be made through my blog here on GI, as well as in certain relative forums to maximize exposure, but all sign ups should be done here in the official group. Just back out from this FAQ thread into the main section of the FragFest group forum and click the "Join Group" button on the right side. After that, you will be able to post as well as read - then simply stay up to date on the thread for the most current upcoming event and you should be good to go.
