  • SO WHO HERE IS PLAYING/PLAYED DEUS EX ON PC/CONSOLE/BOTH and which do you think is a worthwhile experiece?

The Trailer and graphics of the game didn't wow me and on ps3 it just looked like a WII port of a gameand almost brought me to tears. But the pc version makes it look like a WII port with reformatted in HD which actually allowed me to play and realize this rare and flawed gem.

  • I can only speak to PC experience for Human Revolution. It certainly makes the game feel like the perfect transition from the original games that it is, commanding it via keyboard and mouse... but I can't imagine the console version is too different.

I played the game on maximum graphical setting (for an hour or so anyway) and was never particularly impressed by anything. Don't get me wrong, the DX11 support is most certainly noticeable, tessellation always adds to immersion, however with things scaled down I didn't feel greatly distracted by lack of fidelity, if that makes any sense. The voice acting and level design is what draws you in more so than the finite texture details or polycount on models.

  • I agree now that I have put in more hours on the game. But for anyone considering getting a ps3 version of the game (assuming you got a decent pc specs) there are some fairly noticeable improvements on the pc version as opposed to the console:

    1) Graphics are actually crispier with better hd textures and anti aliasing (the environment especially looks amazingly like blade runner) sadly the cgi cutscene is still compressed. Physics and AI reaction to head shots are realistic (they somewhat neutered it in the console, why would some one do a spinning flip with a head shot when they were seated????

    2) AI's still wonk out at times but they are actually smarter on the pc (most will follow you into the next room even open doors you closed behind you). Most will actually be alerted if they happend move their face in your direction as they walk by.

    3) The controls for the pc version are better mapped much better.

    4) While the character models do look like something out 2003's time period they actually have more textures and shading  and do not have polygonal edges as much as console version.

    5) The city hubs are loaded on to ram entirely so you are able to roam the whole city without the annoying loading screen popping up if you walk into a huge opening. There are loading screens when you are entering a building or transitioning to a larger vista but the loading times are a lot faster.

    6) Much better frame rate which makes the gun play tad more responsive and accurate (head shots means the enemy goes down instant not stand for a few secs and then fall)

PC is definitely the winner here. If you have a capable enough PC you should not have any problem running it on high to med settings on Dx 10 where the game looks great compared to the console version. PS: best way to know is if you can play the witcher 2 on med settings then you can run this game on high settings.

The game itself is still pretty *** amazing. After invisible wars I figured it was the end of the franchise and the new one would make the same mistake. But eyros2k is correct, they followed a lot of the attributes of the old game and added new features that compliment the game beautifully and coupled with a great consipiracy/scifi plot, this is a proper deus ex game. That being said this game should not be IGNORED (you can ignore this post though) get it for console only if you do not have a capable PC but do play the game one way or the other.
