Here's how I describe it. It's like Ash is stuck in a constant loop. He improves over his journey in a region, but when he goes to a new region he learns all the same lessons over again.
Let me put it like this, I wish the writing was better. If it had better writing it would be much better.
Oh, you do NOT want to get me started on the voice acting! Half the reason I stopped watching it was when they changed the voice actors. The voice actors have gotten better I will admit. I still watch it once in awhile, but not like I used to.
Now you're playing with power!
That whole period during B&W where Meowth was pretending to be good and was with Ash for a bunch of episodes until he betrayed them was pretty decent. But yeah for the most part the stories stink, and I hate that Pokemon Connoisseur dude's dumb jokes. Brock was a way better chef.

Man what happened that made him do that?
Wait, what?!? Meowth pretended to be good? Again? How many times does that make now? Seriously you'd think they'd learn. Of course had they not done that before it would work better. And here I think they ruined Brock, they turned a tough rock type gym leader into a womanizing pokemon breeder. I would be completely fine with the character had he been a separate character. At least the new guy's character is along the same vain as how he is portrayed in the games.
Occasionally I watch the show. Some characters like Bianca annoyed me greatly. Recently she yelled at Ash's Pokemon to use moves they don't know like Hydro cannon for Oshawott, and then proceeded to take over battles that Ash had complete control of.
The champions come together and a new battle ensues!
For those who watch the show, are Pokemon contests still a thing?
Nope. Ash competes in more tournaments though. They recently finished one.
Hurray! No more contests! Does that mean that there is finally more pokemon battling?
I know what you mean there Icarus, some of the characters can be soooooo annoying. And Bianca really sounds like one of those characters. At least from what I have seen Iris doesn't seem as bad as May or Dawn.
There was contests because of May and Dawn, i think. Jessie did contests too. They have battles but not every episode. He still always loses though.
Iris is dumb because she says she is going to be a Dragon Trainer but only has one dragon Pokemon (Axew) and it only knows 3 moves (it might have learned another by now) It knows scratch, dragon breath (which is it's automatic go to) and it learned dragon rage in a tournament.
I haven't seen many episodes but the ones where they realize Moewth isn't really good they won't stop talking about trains. It's funny because when Ash finds out Meowth is still evil he says 'I had a lot of fun traveling with you' and Moewth just blows him off and calls him some names.
I honestly don't know why. I didn't see when he started traveling with them but in the end they steal a train with crates full of Pokemon (including Ash's and Iris's and that other loser's) so I think that was his motive. He was with them for a good amount of episodes I think.
I havent wached the show since Pokèmon the 3rd Movie was released lol.
The Entei one, correct?
Yes Pokèmon the 3rd movie was the one with Entei.
You're totally right!!
I kinda liked the rap
Well, I'm getting into the Adventures of Unova because N and Cheren have been in it (finally). Beforehand, I got hooked on it when Dawn came back. With all the cool stuff happening in the show, I feel like some other characters are (hopefully) coming back along with Ash's original team of Pokemon. Also, it looks like Team Rocket back to their old tricks again with their plan of snatching Pikachu (when they said the original oath I was sooo happy!). So for those reasons, I'm watching.
