They did change the slowness of the Grass starters with Serperior so I will give it that (except Sceptile was faster too). I guess I just feel everyone loses with the Gen V starters but that's me.

Serperior can be amazing if used right. I run Reflect/Light screen/ giga drain/ leech seed on mine. if you dont understand the implications, this means he is both a physical and a special wall that steals the enemies health. he certainly isnt a sweeper, but is easily the most devious starter ever put in the game, and im sort of glad they gave us something other than your usual sweeper or strenght tank like nearly every other starter has been.

For Snivy's line, I hate Servine. Then again, a lot of the second evolutions, outside of Bayleaf, are pretty bad.

Hahahaha, see this is what I love, we each have such varied tastes. It's great talking to other pokemon fan, I've never had the chance to before.

Here I actually like Servine better than Snivy and dislike Bayleaf, of course I dislike all of Chikorita's line. I agree that many of the second evolutions are worse looking than their other evolutions.

That's a really good breakdown, and I totally agree with most of this. Is this how you feel about the starters as a whole or just the starting Pokemon?

Chimchar is my least favorite because of his moves and his evolutions later on in the games.

Oshawott<Tepig<Chikorita<Piplup<Snivy<Bulbasaur<Torchic<Mudkip, and then these guys are tied as my favorites; Squirtle, Charmander, Chimchar, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treeko

no chikorita should be higher than that :( second gen had the best pokemon

I truly have never been a fan of Treecko or Cyndaquil, all the other starters are actually great pokemon in my opinion.

I hated oshawatt. His face was ugly, and his evolutions are stupid.

Third gen was best in terms of starters.
