The lights are on
Do you like Star Wars? are you a megafan who feels strongly about a particular movie or character? or are you just into the starfighters and lightsabers?. Whatever category you fall into, you'll find something here.
We can now add one more Star Wars project to the growing list of things Disney has cancelled.....Maybe. TheForce.net reported earlier today on a few mysterious pages that showed up on the IMDb message boards. They seemed to be part of a concept script for a new animated movie or series entitled
"Star Wars: Reclamation"
According to the poster, (who claims to be an ex-Lucasfilm employee, who lost their job in the recent layoffs) the show was given the green light in January, but ceased development when the layoffs hit.
You can check out the pages the employee posted below.
There's a chance that this is the in-development Star Wars animated series led by Clone Wars' showrunner Dave Filoni. It could also be an entirely original show that's still in the pipeline at Disney. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that Reclamation is a total work of fan fiction. It is, after all, from a completely unknown source, and there's zero proof that the user was a Lucasfilm employee.
What do you think? Could this be the project we're looking for?
I have said it multiple times now, let us protest everything Disney related until they release: First Assault and resume work on Battlefront 3.
m.ign.com/.../these-star-wars-guitars-rock, they have the Falco in guitar.
Leave it to you to post this before anyone else could, Darthy. You're simply obsessed with Star Wars it seems....
I saw those guitars, Luis! Too bad they guy who makes them doesn't sell his work. I'd buy one in a second!
@Turkey Guilty as charged. I just can't help myself:)
I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for this... but I think that this is a much better time range for a show.
Much bigger variety of characters, more possible issues in the growth of the New Republic, interaction between the Empire and the New Republic... overall the universe after episode 6 felt like it was suited for this type of treatment rather than the Clone Wars, which is mostly about a war.
This has more potential I feel. Then again, I haven't seen all of the Clone Wars.
Sa kyr'am Nau tracyn kad, Vode an.
Flak? Heck no, I agree completely.
While the Clone Wars was a fantastic show, it lacked the tension that comes from not knowing which of the characters could die in any given episode. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, the entire Jedi Council.... You knew they were all going to survive. The only mystery was Ashoka, and even though she was a good character, she couldn't hold the show up by herself.
So Reclamation, if it still exists, has a much greater chance of capturing that sense of drama. The only thing I'm not to keen on is the way the writer of this proposal seems to be ignoring the EU: Lando has a son, not a daughter. The territory occupied by the Imperial Remnant is simply called "The Empire" or "Remnant Space", not "The Union". Leia was never Vice Chair, (that position never existed) she went straight to Chief Of State. The Remnant never had a president or elections, rather, they have a council of Moffs and a Head Of State. The New Republic did away with the title "Supreme Chancellor" as soon as the war was over.
I could go on, but to make a long story short, these changes would seem to be for the benefit of people that aren't actually fans of SW, and want something that reminds them of the real world. I hate that.
