The lights are on
A writing group where everyone writes in the same world(s). Anyone's welcome to join!
All right. I'm not ENTIRELY sure how this is going to work, but here goes:
What I'm thinking of is several shared worlds: perhaps a zombie apocalypse one, a sci-fi one, a fantasy one, etc. Everyone can write in them, and there'll be a wiki for each one, so we know what's going on.
Additionally, we could do like Star Wars worlds, and have characters that can make appearances in other peoples' stories, etc.
What do you guys think?
Sounds like a great idea, but we should also collaborate before we start writing so our stories don't override each others'.
Yeah. That's kind of what I'm thinking. First we invent the worlds, then we write in them.
...Also, we may want to get more people. If you know anyone who's a writer, tell them about this.
I have a friend IRL (he co-wrote the Jumbonium world with me) that might be interested.
Yeah? That'd be cool.
And we should use the Jumbonium. That would be awesome.
I'll post as much information about the Jumbonium as I can as soon as I'm done with school. Probably around next Monday.
Ok cool. No rush.
Great job Caudex. This is really cool. And I like the idea of using the Jumbonium. Looking forward to when we start.
Thanks! This is something I've always wanted to do, but I never had enough people around to do it with. And yes, I want to give the Jumbonium a shot as well. That poor, fat clown...
Oh, trust me. Jumbo deserves everything that has happened to him plus more. Except what happened during his childhood, but whatever.
...so he's motivated by childhood trauma, eh? I could work with that. Mwuhahahaa...
Anyway, here's what I'm thinking. We can set up some worlds with some basic frameworks and a general sort of history, then we basically add to it as we write.
So for like a fantasy world, there's a history of politics and intrigue and battles that we can throw characters into. How does that sound?
His mother sold him to a circus as a child after keeping him malnourished (that's why he eats so much, because as a child he was starved). He was raised in the dangerous world of travelling circuses, but eventually left to be a freelance clown.
There's so much history I could say about the Jumbonium, my friend and I had so much fun creating it.
Creating histories of worlds is so much fun! I did one once with my friend where we drew the map (but I was the only one who came up with the history) and I made the royal lineage from the first king all the way to the current generation, giving each gen a story and plotting out the major events of the world. It's way too much fun. Someone should outlaw it.
We could always try to get a bill passed outlawing it, ;)
This is a great idea. I maybe could make a couple of maps for some of these worlds :D
