The lights are on
Ah, the good'ol day of the Big N. Back when the NES was what it was all about. Discuss anything related to Retro Nintendo here.
What are your favorite SNES games? Why? Tell us about some of your favorite experiences playing them.
Now you're playing with power!
The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.
Oh I need to say why I like it... Because its Zelda and you get to shoot things with arrows.
You didn't have to say why, I just thought it would good topic of conversation, I don't know. I'm not good at making new topics.
A Link to the Past is a great game. After all it's the game that got me into Zelda. Forget shooting arrows at stuff, the playable character gets turned into a pink rabbit. That should be reason enough! It's definitely one of my favorites.
My personal favorite is Chrono Trigger. I think we can all agree that popular opinion is it's one of the best RPGs of all time. It has great characters, a great story, amazing music, great gameplay, and endless replayability. I've lost count of how many times I have played through it, but it's well over a dozen.
And this is coming from a guy who's not that into most RPGs!
I've never played Chrono Trigger.. I think I may have to now.
Never got to play A Link to the Past but I bet that would probably take whatever I put. I choose Contra III: The Alien Wars for co-op and Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island for just a fantastic game. Street Fighter II was lots of fun.
@ Carson: Only if you want to try it. I don't want to push people into doing something they might not want to do.
@ Ham: I've played Contra, good game, tough, but really good.
Super Mario World is my claim to fame. 100% completion. All the secrets found. Only game I've ever done that in.
Sadly, I've never been that good at fighting games.
Ahh Contra. Oh how you gave me much misery.
Are there really that many secrets in that game? I don't remember there being any "secrets" in it.
How about the Top Secret Area that's one screen with 5 ? boxes with a Yoshi\1up, 2 fire flowers, and 2 feathers. The star roads that make traversing the over world way easier. Then there are the 8 special levels with such names as Gnarly, Tubular, and Groovy.
They are supposedly the 8 hardest levels in the game, and they are vary hard, but I think the fortress leading to Bowser's backdoor is harder than a few of them.
Then once you beat them you get a reward so you have proof of you achievement.
But of course you guys might have already known about these supposed "secrets."
Then all my hard work would have been for naught!
I gave up on Super Mario World in the Forest of Illusion I think is was called. I have no idea what to do.
One died in India. Three was tracked down in Brazil. I am the only one left. I am The Second Musketeer
Nope I don't remember that screen or Bowser's backdoor. I remember the Star world though with all the different colored Yoshi's.
@ Musketeer: That place always hangs me up whenever I start a new game. If you want I could give you some help to get you out.
@ Ham: See there are secrets. :)
There's so many games on the SNES that I favor a lot: Both Mario Words, Final Fantasy, etc. One game that is in my top 5 and I always thought was pretty underrated was the first Actraiser.
Man I really struggled through those secret levels in Super Mario World. Especially that level where you had to keep grabbing balloons and floating across vast pits.
