The lights are on
A group to bring together Team GIO 2012 in their efforts to donate to charity.
I know not everyone is doing the marathon, or even gaming at all, but if you are, what are your tentative plans? Maybe grabbing some multiplayer from Gears or Uncharted? Polishing off that game series you grieviously overlooked? Working on ET and Superman 64? So many possibilities!
As for me, I will hopefully be doing some Halo Reach with friends from the site. To me that is the quintessential multiplayer game and one I could play for 24 hours and still enjoy.
I am going to do the dishes, feed the dog, water the kid, and spend most of the day having a great time with all of you! Seriously though, I want to experience as many great games as possible during this time with fellow GIOers. My plan is to hop from coop to coop session.
"You know nothing Jon Snow"
My participation depends on my buddy going out of town on his annual October Canada trip. I housesit, and therefore, use his spiffy interweb connection. Even if he doesn't go this year, I will still donate some cash.
As far as games go, mayhaps the Mass Effect multiplayer. I have played through the single player game of ME 2 and ME 3 8 times each, so its a favorite of mine. I may investigate the Rockstar Socialclub... see if I can find someone to play Red Dead with or something. Or, who knows, I may have a X-box by then, and play Reach with Stranger, if he'll have me.
"I'm a dude, playin' a dude, disguised as anotha dude! You a dude that don't know what dude he is!" -Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder
The only game that comes out around the time of the event that interests me is Resident Evil 6. I might be playing it for the event if I haven't beaten it by then.
But I have an idea. If anybody wants to help me, I want to build something big in Minecraft for GIO. It could be a Castle, a city, or anything else we could think of! The only problem is my PC isn't working and if it was, it doesn't run Minecraft really well. So if I were to do this, I would probably do it on the Xbox version (which sucks since its a Vanilla version) but who knows if they might add some cool additions to the Xbox version by October 20th! We'll see. If you want to do something like this on PC, go ahead. If you want to join me, message me and I'll add you on Xbox.
SON OF A KOOB!
If im correct in my belief that this event is in October, there is only one game that I can possibly play for this: Borderlands 2.
Which means I will need 3 people with Borderlands 2 for the PS3 to play with me >:P
I'm gonna try to stick to the co-op so I can hang with others. So some Borderlands 2 (for 360), maybe do a Mass Effect trilogy marathon if i can't hang due to system conflicts or a lack of me having a game, Future Soldier, etc... I'll mix it up. I'm curious to see what Jack has up his sleeve for events though as that is his department. Whatever they are, I will be participating somehow.
I really hope I am able to participate... I would play a game that I didn't like ifit meant playing with you guys.
I had hoped to split my time between Forza: Horizon and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but they're both releasing the following Tueday x.x That said I'm not really sure what to fall back onto in particular. Whatever strikes my fancy at the time..
I'll be making a blog on this, but my plan right now is to livestream various games for the marathon. I'll put up a blog on it later, though I'm having issues with my capture card right now and I want to get that working before I make any promises.
@BlackHeartedWolf - How do you livestream? I've been wondering this question ever since the last Extra Life event. If it's something simple then I'm going to feel like an idiot. XD
I personally use Xsplit and Twitch.TV. X split is a video encoder that captures and then broadcasts online. I used that for when I was making the video versions of the Community Update as well.
To get a better idea of what it is I'm also going to be streaming for everyone tonight as a sort of test. If you want to see more about it you can check it out.
@BlackHeartedWolf - Ah, I see. I plan on livestreaming one of these events someday, but as of right now I wouldn't be able to because of my kid. You'd get nothing but constant pause screens as I would be chasing him everywhere. :P Thanks for the information!
Right now, my line-up is looking like Borderlands 2, Resident Evil 6, and Mass Effect 3 (360.)
Borderlands 2, Resident Evil 6, and I'll have to throw in some multiplayer games to help me to continue going.
