The lights are on
Looking for a survival Horror group? I was as well. Looking to reminisce about such classics as Eternal darkness, Resident Evil and Silent Hill? Why am I asking so many questions? Well then this is the group for you my friend!
How long ago did I post that this was supposed to happen?http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/07/11/silent-hill-hd-collection-recieves-much-needed-patch.aspx
It's just now getting patched? It's been out for 4 months, it better be a darn good fix.
UPDATE: okay ghouls and gals. This patch news has given me the inspiration to do yet another play through of SH2. This time on hard and I'm going for the "under 3 hours" trophy. That said I will tell you now the patch works. I'm about an hour and a half into it and the frame rate issue has been 99% fixed. Just one or two hiccups so far. James no longer runs in slow motion. The lip sync issue is resolved. All the dialog lines up with the character lip movements (it was never perfectly lined up even in the original so this is as good as it will ever be) And it seems that the music and background effects are more prominent then my last two run throughs. I'm hearing a lot more detail especially in the music this time and it's dispersed much more evenly in 5.1. And the fog in cut scenes is now copacetic with the in game fog. And on the note of fog: the fog is now as thick as molasses just like the original. Which for my preference I wish they has scaled it back a bit. Now all the amazing HD detail in building and the surrounding area is..well, lost in the fog :( But at least I got to see how detailed the Silent Hill 2 world was before they fixed it.
And while I'm here keep yours eyes peeled for a special member here who will be dropping their stellar review of the Silent Hill HD collection. Dig on that!
I shall join you in trying to get this achievement!!!
