The lights are on
Looking for a survival Horror group? I was as well. Looking to reminisce about such classics as Eternal darkness, Resident Evil and Silent Hill? Why am I asking so many questions? Well then this is the group for you my friend!
So, with the announcement and reveal of Dead Space 3, we learn about the co-op option. Being able to drop in at any time, while it has been said that single player can still be played without co-op. It hasn't been said if we're stuck with an AI for single player yet.
My personal impression is as followed:
-Yay more Dead Space!
-Yay I can have fun with playing long side my friend
-New environments, interesting enough
-Boo seems more action oriented
-Hope that they stick to DS's roots of atmosphere and horror
-hope that even with co-op we have moments of being apart
-Hope that with co-op we do not become "invincible"
I thought it looked great man. The snowy planet they're on should be a nice change of pace from corridor...monster....corridor...monster. I'll be fine with co-op as long as it doesn't become too invasive ala RE5.
Guess we'll see.
I kind of hoped they'd do a separate co op campaign as to not ruin the scary bits. Im always hyped for more dead space though!
I'm liking the new environment, I was kind of iffy when I first heard about it...but after seeing some of it in action, it doesn't look too bad.
@ Wes: I heard that the game can be played solo or co-op, from what the site says
"Play how you want - immerse yourself in the classic single-player campaign with Isaac Clarke, then discover how the story evolves when a co-op partner is present in your campaign. "
Sounds like Co-op will be something different and im leaning ( and hoping) it will be devoid of AI partner. It's too early to really tell >.<
@ J Warrior: I def dig the change of location, Im interested to see what interior environments will hold. One thing I really do not want changes that the previous two had was the state of environments. Like being able to see that this was a place someone lived, or worked and that it's now chaotic and bloody, devoid of life. Im always a sucker for that angle :p
All in all I am excited for this but at the same time I kinda have a Downpour Operation /Racoon City gut feeling of possible disappointment and i hope I'll be damned wrong!
I do not know about the co op feature. Co op takes the scaryness out of the game. It reminds me of re5
I honestly think this game won't be all that good....

You What?!
Meh...We'll see. I don't think it will get as good as reviews as the last 2 did, but oh well, we shall see.
Lol Idk... Survival Horror is somewhat vanishing.... And Co-op just gets that "Scare Factor" reduced. It's going to be more Action, but eh. RE6 will have much of that as well.
That's why I'm designing a Survival Horror game with the U3.
It just feels like another Lost Planet with better graphics IMO. Not that it's bad, but I just feel that it's different than the first 2 games. We'll see.
